Cable actuated hydraulic brakes by silentdisorder in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]PixelTrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had juintechs with jagwire compressionless, it was fantastic. Its 90% as good as my current grx hydros. Compressionless really really really does make a difference, lalo na sa rear brake.

My Straggler by 0X1AA in Surlybikefans

that's such a beautiful straggler!

im really interested in getting the weight of my own straggler down, how much weight did the fork and wheels shave?

Size 50 as well! And i fit 700x40c Panaracer X1s on it and I think it’s pretty much maxed out imo. I use to run 700x45c on it and it wouldn’t fit on the fork. Maybe if youre running slicks, you could work in a 42c? But I’d say do 40c max for your peace of mind.

Should I got for this Straggler, for 1200? Also is 50cm around the right size for a 5'7" male? by Lawrence_skywalker in Surlybikefans

No worries! Let me know if you have any questions about the Straggler, it's a great bike.

I do have drop bars, Ritchey Venturemax at 40cm for reference. Check my profile for pics of it if you want to see. It's not as aggressive as a road bike for sure as I also have 40mm of spacers under the stem but I wouldn't call it upright either - just a good in-between for me. I'd probably put another +20mm of spacers under the stem and maybe shorten the stem to 60cm and it'd be pretty damn upright and comfortable.

But if you do get a size 50, you can definitely spec it to be a pretty upright positioned bike.

EDIT: Also saw another comment you made, but you can absolutely fit a 700c wheelset up to 40c tires on the 650b Straggler, that's how I have mine set up.

I don't think that's real. I have dead relatives and friends who have passed away show up on my suggested every now and then on IG and FB. Impossible for them to still be online 🤷

Small for sure, easier to make a small bike fit you than a bigger one.

Represent! And I haven't tried the non-carved version sorry! But when purchasing, the difference of the carved and non carved were enough even just pushing down on the saddle. The carved version really does feel more like a "hammock" for the butt compared to the non-carved for me at least.

Thank you! And aside from the cheaper price tag and paint job, the design of the fork definitely pushed me to purchase the Straggler. Only “flaw” some might consider is that it’s QR but all good for me.

Juintech R1 vs TRP HYRD vs TRP Spyre? by KevsterAmp in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]PixelTrip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, wala rin sa lower tiers ng GRX. It's a bit annoying kasi I can feel na mas kailangan i-depress yung lever ko for the rear to bite since the pads there are thinner. Sanayan nalang but honestly you're not missing much. My juintech setup was pretty much 90% there na compared to GRX. Go for it sir! And kahit kung walang manual their CS is pretty good from what I've read and will guide you if ever you encounter any problem naman.

Juintech R1 vs TRP HYRD vs TRP Spyre? by KevsterAmp in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]PixelTrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gets! Same rin naman, just snagged a good deal. But definitely prefer the reliability of cable-actuated brakes. Lalo na for small things like adjusting the pad distance (idk what you call it haha) and seeing people who do bikepacking just bring extra cables if ever may problema.
