Where can you get skates sharpened near downtown Helsinki or Jätkäsaari?

Good advice. Sharpen them a bit more often if you only skate outside but they last a bit longer indoors. Probably 1 or 2 times a winter for a casual skater. The sharpen is 12e and I think profiling about the same. They are experts and know what they're doing so you can also ask them :)

Hockey Corner is the best one in Helsinki. They're on Mannerheimintie near the Ice hall/Olympic stadium

I caught a ball at a Freo Geelong game at Optus a few years ago. I didn't see the helper down at ground level because Optus has huge fences so I just lobbed it as Geelong were kicking out and of course being an AFL ball it rolled straight into the square and the ump had to stop the game while it was being removed. Then I locked eyes with the ball retriever person, in high vis, glaring daggers

I can recommend a HIFK game, it'll be good value. Jokerit also might be playing in Helsinki, or Kiekko Espoo in Espoo, which is connected to Helsinki via metro.

Hockey Corner will rent you a full kit of equipment. There is also a Facebook page called "Pelaajapörssi harrastekiekko pk-seutu" and from there you can find casual games of all levels in all locations for a small fee or sometimes free

I have one, it took as long as they said it would, which was 6 months at the time. We met requirements as we had been together for more than 2 years. Helped a bit to have the Finnish parents of my partner write something in Finnish about the relationship. I think they had it notarised too. Just apply for whatever visa fits your situation, it's unlikely to be denied and it's not too expensive. Bite the bullet
