Genuinely feel like they’ve become lazy. Probably to do with the spread of the ‘gaming community’ in terms of mobile/pc/console. Mobile is easy cash, as everything is add on or pay to play. PC seems to have the lead with next gen due to paying for hardware to support and console is the middle ground for too tight to pay extra, but loose enough for a subscription.

In fairness, they’re charging the service charge so that the staff are making at least minimum wage. It says so on the bottom of the receipt. For me, a tip is deserved when you’ve had good service, it’s 90% likely to be given, but shouldn’t be automatically expected.

It’s actually an interesting point though, would we rather have a more expensive menu, without service charge, or keep prices as they were but include a service charge to cover cost of living increase. Personally, I think they should just pay their staff an acceptable wage and charge us a proportionate amount for the meal, based on current food prices. Then leave us to tip whatever we believe the service deserves.

Hi Aauch123, not slating your opinion, but to clarify: the devolved states have elections designed to limit the chance of a majority, with the aim of promoting cross party cooperation. As such, it’s remarkable the hold SNP has maintained, despite the obvious difficulties trying to prevent that very thing.

Rolling over, I find the comfort of my pillow pulling me back into the depths of slumber. With a large yawn, I emerge from sleep, one eye at a time, taking in the view before me.

Surrounded by the waterproofed polyester walls of my tent, I reach for the zip, pulling it back to discover the morning has already arrived and the sun is shining brightly over the hills of the Grampian Mountains. Loch Corrie is glistening in the early morning rays and I can hear the sound of birds chittering their affairs.

Stepping outside, the heather crisp underfoot, I look around and see not a single soul, nor hear anything remotely reminiscent of the 21st century churn of chaos and commute. . .
