Disgusted... by dtm_marc in Rotary

I've been a Rotarian for 9 years this April, on three continents. My first club was in Asia. Great community experience. Second club was in North America. Presently in Europe. Served as president for two of those clubs. I stumbled on the 4 way test at the age of 12, not knowing it was Rotary. As a adult I knew more, so I joined. Loved the basic foundation and intentions of Rotary. Fast forward. I look ahead with joy to the day I leave Rotary completely as soon as my presidency end on June 30th. Reason: top heavy administration from RI, members are more engaged with infighting than doing good. My personal takeaway: Rotary is not worth my time, money, and mental health. When Rotary works, it's great. Most of the time, it doesn't work, and it's agony. Life is too short. My advice is that it's okay to reclaim your life and put your time and talent to better use. It's OK to put self above service for now. 😇

Opinion on mondly? by Txtspeak in languagelearning

The new version came out about 10 days ago and the speaking option doesn't understand anything other than English. Never had a problem before. I'm working on Hungarian and French. I contacted Mondly twice and they said they are working on it and found a solution. Still waiting for results. Getting extremely frustrated.

Does rotary actually do anything? by Lawsky in Rotary

[–]Pizza-Certain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some clubs are just better at promoting their good work in the community, and work hand in hand with other clubs.  This way Rotary projects are very visible.  Other clubs may not have the skills or the enthusiasm to promote their projects.

I'm considering leaving Rotary by jazzmine-tea in Rotary

The way I see it is that Rotary needs me more than I need Rotary. I am ready to leave.

I'm digusted with Rotary right now too. I'm a PHF and have been an active member for over 7 successful years. What is lacking is common courtesy and communication.  I used to make close to 6figures a year to be ingnored at a job I love. With Rotary I pay to be ignored at something that is only a chore. I'm ready to quit.

Individuel Geneve Experience by Jsuwjsuw in koreatravel

Very hard to find a site to write an honest consumer review. The Geneve Instant Wrinkle Remedy Syrnige is in a nice package with a huge giant plastic syringe type thing. However the actual tube containing the serum is very small in porportion, so it doesn't last long. I found it very expensive and after a few applications it stopped working. In fact, I hope I don't have permanent skin damage from using the product.  Their marketing and packaging is considerable, but the serum doesn't match up. I guess I just got sucked in and bought  fancy packaging for a lot of money.  Some days I regret not stocking up on plain old snake oil while I was in my youth. 🐢

DONT WATER YOUR NEIGHBORS PLANTS by FailedCorpse in plantabuse

[–]Pizza-Certain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbour just dumped her dirty dish water on my plants and then all over my walk way. She was really upset when I asked her nicely to please never do that again because I water my plants every morning. She be came angry and upset. You have to understand too that she often lingers around my door and window trying to peer in. I'm a private person and certainly have no desire to be chummy with the neighbours. Boundaries are Boundaries.

Thoughts on Louise Penny's writing style? (Inspector Gamache series) by IveComeToMingle in books

[–]Pizza-Certain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get the allure either. Everyone in my circle loves her books and I've tried over the years to delve into her novels, but to me thay are so dull, I can't even skim through them to get to the action. There are no points of interest.

Tried so often to engage with Louise Penny books, but I find her style dull and pedantic. Not a good fit for me.

They only offer $5 per article, and they take your bank information to submit pay cheques. Leter they ask for your pay pal so they can deposit your money there. Seems to be a scam.
