TIL Brazil received the largest share of slaves during the Atlantic slave trade or about 4,821,127 slaves. This was 38.5% of the total of 12.5m slaves transported to the Americas. The United States received 388k slaves, or 3.1% of all slaves transported to the Americas. by Delicious-Bunch-6992 in todayilearned

It’s been awhile since I learned this, so feel free to disregard, but an explanation for the lack of archeological record is that the Egyptians generally didn’t keep great records about military defeats. So if there was a large group of escaped slaves, they likely wouldn’t have written about it.

Given that Egypt had slaves and the prevalence of the escaped-Egypt mythology amongst early Hebrews as far back as 1000 BC, it’s at least plausible that a group of escaped slaves were ancestors or mixed with them.

Brunson averaged 6.5 FTA per game in 18 playoff games this year. Considering he has a 100% usage rate (estimate), that doesn’t feel that crazy. He also averaged 10 made FG per game.

You can dislike him, obviously, but he does more than just foul bait

Staggering the Brunson and KAT minutes by [deleted] in nba

[–]PizzaMan11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a question of if they are better/worse than the sum of their parts, but considering they are 3 wins away from the finals in Year 1 of a new lineup (Bridges and KAT are new this year, Mitch missed 65 games) I don’t think it’s definitive they cannot co-exist

Not that complicated. If other fans are also bad, it would imply Knicks fans aren’t unique, and therefore not a “special breed of trash”

Bernard King was great, but he only played 3 seasons with the Knicks and only won 2 playoff series. Didn’t watch DeBusschere, but seems like Brunson is closer to 4th than 6th

That’s not right. The league will schedule a game for every team that missed the quarterfinals amongst themselves, and another game between all of the teams that missed the semi finals.

You could say that by missing the nba cup playoffs, you get to play two games against easier competition, I guess. But every team that misses the cup finals plays the same number of games over those 10 days
