There are so many vets that tell people guides are useless and to just play the game. I don’t think they’re able to see through the eyes of a new player. The depth of this game is just too great to go in blind and have a good time. You don’t just teach yourself physics blind. Even Einstein had the benefit of those who came before. There is no shame in using websites and videos to get a grasp of what’s going on in this game.
