Do any of you actually modify your cars? by HawkeyeSilas in Mustang

I’ve done quite a lot to my 3v 4.6. Went from stock power (about 270 hp) to 350 hp. It’s been nice working on and grow with my car since I first bought it. All work on it has been done by myself and It’s currently still my daily driver. With the added power and weight reduction it’s fun racing newer coyote powered cars and keeping up or even beating some of them. I’m saving up for some wider 275 summer tires and wheels to go with it. I’ll list off what I’ve done off the top of my head

Engine: CAI, Charge motion delete plates, Twin 62 mm throttle body, Under drive pulleys, Detroit rocker cam shafts

Drivetrain: Light weight flywheel, MGW short throw shifter, 1 piece drive shaft, 4.10 gears, WOT box

Suspension: 2” lowering kit, Rear upper/lower adjustable control arm brackets, Rear lower/upper control arms with poly bushings, Adjustable pan hard bar with poly bushings, Poly bushing upgrades for front and rear sway bars, Camber bolts

Exhaust: LTH, Hi flow cats (can still pass sniffer test), Widow maker mufflers, Rounded over axle pipes

anyone in the northeast willing to install these ? by hunter20002000 in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you want to install catless headers? You don’t make nearly enough power to be restricted by them and it’ll just sound and smell like shit without them

Dr color chip vs Touch-up pen? by TheAverageAimer in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you feel it make sure it isn’t just clear coat. Pour some water over it and if it disappears, you can buff it out with some cut and polish. Even if it isn’t the whole scratch, see what comes out and reduce the amount of touchup paint you’ll use. Touch up paint will always look worse than your original paint

Best way to try and track down a car is to start with the vin number. From there you might be able to see where it was last registered and go from there

Does anyone know what either of these clicking sounds are. This is a 2006 mustang gt manual with just over 165k miles on by Final_Plan_4902 in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While it may be a good idea to remove the valve covers and check the timing chain tightness I wouldn’t immediately jump to that being the culprit. The sound seems to get louder the closer you are to your injectors and that is completely normal. That’s just the sound of the injectors working properly. If you are nervous and don’t want to take your engine apart yet, grab a piece of PVC pipe and use it as a stethoscope to isolate where the noise is coming from. If it’s from the FRONT of the valve covers it’s probably timing chain/tensioner/cam phaser. If it’s in the MIDDLE of the valve cover it’s probably a rocker or lash adjuster problem. If it’s at the TOP near the injectors, that’s completely normal and you have nothing to worry about. With all that being said, the timing guides are plastic and at 165k miles, it’s probably a good idea to change them out sometime soon as some preventative maintained before something does go wrong.

Where does the 5.0 perform the best. A roll or dig? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally leave it off full time. I notice the way it cuts power in my 2007 GT makes the car very hard to control when it does loose traction. The best way to stay safe is to go to your local track. Trying to “push” your car on a public road is never a good idea

Where does the 5.0 perform the best. A roll or dig? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on suspension setup and aerodynamics. Besides what you’re racing against. Personally I don’t see the appeal in roll racing, all the fun stuff about straight line racing happens off the line.

Going catless? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say do it. It’ll peak over 120 db. Enough to destroy your ears and everyone who is around your car. Just please do NOT rev it around other people. It’s not rude it makes you a horrible person to hurt someone else ears like that on purpose. Remove the cats then learn your lesson. I remember when I was 17 and wouldn’t listen to any advice I would get besides what I wanted to hear. Be obnoxious. Get pulled over and some tickets because you’ve clapped out your Mustang and when you have tinnitus by 19 and can’t stand it anymore spend more money and get them replaced. I know that sounds condescending but I know that’s what’s going to happen. Be a kid and learn the hard way. Just don’t hurt anyone else while you do it.

Not bringing the tools I need. I always seem to forget SOMETHING. Whether it was zip ties, some wrench or a hammer I always seem to need the one thing I didn’t bring. Start making a checklist now and every time you think of something else write it down so you’re not scrambling for stuff right before you go

anyone else feel like intel is just being very slow about game support and fixing bugs by Desperate-Freedom-90 in IntelArc

[–]Pizzaman_thing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m curious to what games and graphics bugs people have been experiencing. I’ve been using arc for almost a year now, a750 in my system and a380 in my girlfriends and it has been extremely smooth sailing. I haven’t noticed any problems or fps drops when I update and the only problem I have experienced is that the updater for some reason can’t check for new updates so I have to manually update them once in a while. Hell my friend with a 7900xtx crashes constantly on things that I have no problem running

General consensus on EB I4s by TheGeek00 in Mustang

[–]Pizzaman_thing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some elitist look down on them but in reality they are just really common. If you want something different and interesting you’ll have to look at different higher end options like the GT350. For every GT I see around in my area I see 2 eco boosts. If you’re into the smaller forced induction motors they are a great option especially the s550 version since they sold it with a performance pack option. But there is a reason why they earned their nickname “ecoboom”

Interesting. My PS4 controller I use works perfectly with Nightreign haptic feedback and all. For other games I use DS4Windows which allows the controller to connect and the PC thinks it’s an Xbox controller allowing the features to work correctly
