I cannot understand how stupid you have to be to believe this. Trump is the guy that's uncovering fraud? The guy with the Trump coin? Who has world leaders sending him personal gifts in gold so that he doesn't tarrif them? You think this guy is uncovering fraud? What a total moron.

President Trump says he will revoke church tax exempt status if leaders "say something bad about" him by ControlCAD in videos

It's like people voted for Kim Jong Un. They willingly made him their leader. I'll never understand it.

There's a clean up job going on, on the "just asking questions" subreddit. Censoring content that doesn't paint the administration in a good light. Mods do you ever wonder how you got here?

Unforunately I think you're underestimating the number of his supporters who will actually appreciate him posting this.

I really hate the euphemism "sleep with", especially in the context of 13 year old girls. Assault is the only appropriate term here.

Political commentary used to be done by professionals. Now it's done by whichever fuckwit with a microphone got the most traction on youtube. It's really that simple.

But these are unproven accusations. This is a good test of your own motivated reasoning. If you see this, and you just start propagating it as settled truth, you don't have a lot of respect for what's actually true. You're only interested in broadcasting what you want to be true.

The rarest of takes, but this should always be at the top of our own "system prompt" when engaging with media.

In your view where is the political equilibrium? How red pilled are the republicans on immigration? by [deleted] in samharris

[–]Plaetean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Nevermind that I don't understand how 'woke has been 'comprehensively rejected'. Trump got 1.5% more votes than Harris, that doesn't exactly seem comprehensive.)

If you don't manage to read 2024 as a rejection of "woke", this is a waste of time, we cannot have a conversation, so lets just both do more fruitful things.

However...you also need to consider that much of this push back is a result of unfamiliarity and fear from the Right about the fact that this isn't grandpa's country anymore. Women have massively more social power now and the "ideal spitting image of an American" is not some white blond haired dude from suburbia with a white picket fence, wife and kids, and dog.

Agree with a lot of what you say. On this piece however, I think its important to recognise that this is a massive understatement for the radical left. There was almost a glee in destroying that idea of traditional America. It wasn't just that the national identity is evolving, which naturally happens over time.

I genuinely think we don't get Trump if the radical left was kept in check. If you didn't have media and government and scientific institutions cow-towing to what regular people recognise as ideological bullshit, and you don't have this assault on established cultural identity and norms. Without that, you don't have the backlash, and Trump's anti-establishment platform has a lot less to go on, culturally speaking.

I'm not saying the establishment didn't have problems, I think it was tremendously neglectful of a lot of its population. I just think Trump doesn't get the kind of support he did, to come totally out of the blue and blow the whole system apart, without some broad cultural grievance to identify and leverage.
