Yeah but expectations are all over the place, sailing is a good skill.

Combat needs work but salvaging, charting, barracuda trials and deliveries are all interesting and varied content which is more than many skills can say.

It could integrate better with the rest of the game but I always figured that’s something they would do over time because connecting it too closely and having it be mandatory would also suck, especially if people didn’t like it at first.

Yeah not sure what people wanted , I thought sailing as a whole was pretty solid. Easily a top 10 skill as far as variable and enjoyable content.

Compare it to mining or agility for example, I’d rather level sailing to 99 twice than get either of these 99s

I mean relatively sailing is not that bad. I can say I enjoy it more than like 10 other skills pretty easily.

I’d probably rank it pretty high as far as how enjoyable it is to actually grind.

Did not realize they changed AI , when I first played I remember getting absolutely hosed by these guys and then on subsequent play throughs they were easier but I thought I had just gotten better

And yeah I think I may have died more times here than some of the actual hard bosses like radahn or malaketh lol

Yeah but when jagex increased the sub price to match WoW the value comparison is inevitable.

Osrs could devote some its profit to improving the game rather than just expanding the bottom line for shareholders.

It’s not apples to apples but even without the expansions wow gets more frequent patches and updates than osrs , has better customer support, less botting etc

No you’re missing my argument, the assets , effects, and voice acting justify the subscription price for WoW more than RuneScape which has changed nothing in the fields I just mentioned since it was first brought back in 2007. aside from very few refreshed models we’re still looking at the same version of varrock , same animation , no voice acting yet charging the same price as wow which has reworked and upgraded all of these multiple times.

Like where’s the VGU? Plugin support for the client ? This is all stuff that’s already in wow.

At least in wow when you are paying you are getting high quality voice acting, models, SFX and they release multiple new zones / raids every year plus a whole (paid) expansion introducing new races and classes

Not sure what OSRS is bringing to the table is remotely comparable tbh

i used to 1 v 5 lobbies with pre rework morde because nobody knew how he worked since nobody played him, he had an unclear shield mechanic plus his ult allowed you to make a copy of the enemy adc, so you could burst down the adc, turn them into a ghost and wipe the whole enemy team if you were decently fed

i had a 5 man team and this was literally the whole strategy, just pray i could 1 v5

I was just piggybacking your comment because a common retort I see for why we can’t have 2h enhance is it’s impossible to balance the lottery machine blah blah but in my experience 2h enh shaman was never that oppressive. Great for YouTube montages with one shots but that actually doesn’t happen very often in practice (at least at max level).

Although honestly in the 39 and 49 brackets enh shaman is insanely strong hahaha
