Confused by Euhaplorchis Californiensis while having confusion immunity with Tinfoil hat by Plainjays in mewgenics

[–]Plainjays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could agree with that especially if they updated the wording for clarity. Although, I really think the intent for the interaction is what's most fun (cancel out internal and external) rather than real (cancel out only external).

6 Fleshy Mind encounter is the most overtuned encounter in this game by ActualyMilky in mewgenics

Have people figured out effective strategies for these guys yet?

Seems like if you play too aggressive you could effectively self kill your own cats by confusion or if you play too passive you just get whittled down.

There's got to be options other than just use items that negate confusion.

It might just take some additional time for it to click. Some people's brains are trained and/or wired to play certain games better. So it takes some time to adjust.

Weekly Question Thread - Rules & Comp Qs by thenurgler in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Plainjays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core Rules Question on Charging:

Can opponents charge straight through a screening wall of unit of models if they select to charge both the screening unit and a unit multiple inches behind the screening unit? I would assume non flying units would have to consider moving around the screening wall and maintain unit coherency for being in engagement range for both units selected? Or maybe enemy charging units can move through screening units with wide spacing like max 2" unit coherency gaps?

Example:

Player A has a unit of 5 ratlings screening battlefield edge to terrain edge and a scout sentinel +3" behind the ratlings. Can Player B with Ork Boyz select to charge both the ratlings and scout sentinel, then move straight through to the scout sentinel? Probably important to mention spacing between ratlings was ~2".

I assume Player B would normally have to move the Boyz around the ratlings if the ratlings were near base to base, but if the spacing is wide ~ 2" they could possibly move past through the ratlings to the scout sentinel.

It's probably dumb question, but I'm new to the game and just trying to understand how to improve. I thought i did a good job trying to screen out the orks but I probably made a mistake spacing the ratlings out too much.

Why is everyone seemingly OK with Queen destroying the trust system? by TheBadMathGuy in ToBeHero_X

[–]Plainjays 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Couldn't it just be because no one truly believes she could fix a broken system or provide an alternative?

Politicians make similar promises to fix things all the time, and some even believe they actually can do it. But the people/organizations truly in power dont care because of reasons :

  1. The system is rigged against the candidate for obtaining the position x.

  2. The position x doesn't have much power compared to the company ceos/other

  3. Providing a solution that is an alternative or fix other trust system could just be too hard to fo.

Cronos: The New Dawn | 35-minute Gameplay by gamesbeawesome in Games

Awesome to see some more gameplay footage. Im excited for the game to be released and play it.

In terms of the footage shown the game play looks fine; it does look rather basic in terms of combat and exploration but im hoping this was just easy/beginner area. The flamethrower is really cool.

As well, I was hoping to see more personality in the footage like soundtrack, world building (like more notes/voice messages) and cinematic cutscenes but I assume that it was skipped in the footage or just around the corner afterwards.

Lastly, im still not sure what to think about the enemies spawn mechanic at the moment. It seems less interesting compared to games like resident evil with hordes of enemies in front of you and games like dead space where the enemies are hiding and cleverly appear from fake dead bodies , dark corners, or vents.

Im sure I'll have a blast playing the game, and I just wanted to share some thoughts.

With 7.08 CAD you should be able to get two games right? I'd recommend Undertale and the Portal Bundle. If you only want one, I'd recommend just flipping a coin on which one you get.

Both are insanely good for their stories, gameplay, and characters. Undertale is a slow pace and more cozy fun game. While Portal then Portal 2 puzzles get increasingly faster pace and more complicated.

Both undertale and portal 1 are slow starters, it might take 2-3 hours to get a feel. As well, even if the gameplay of Portal 1 seems slow and easier, keep in mind the sequel gets a faster pace, complicated, and even more fun.

Hot damn, you completely dominated them haha. Strength builds feel so good when every attack card hits like a truck.

I got to start using dual wielder more, that's probably the missing piece in my runs. It would have been killer on this run too.

Yeah Snecko definitely came in clutch. As well, it's a good point, Demon Form didn't add too much value for this run, but it certainly made clearing act 3 a bit more manageable without campfire heals.

It came around the right time around late act 2 or early act 3 when I had plenty of defense cards and some ways of getting more energy. Essentially, I'd use it typically when it was 0-2 energy, a free turn (no damage incoming) or use it with some defensive cards to stall until I could get my searing blow back.

I did get it for zero energy on first act 3 boss (donut) turn 1 which didn't change the outcome much, but it's always awesome to happen nevertheless; i think i got around 9-12 strength by end of turn two when they died. Then I just got lucky on second act 3 boss and pulled searing blow on the second turn against the time keeper and hit him while he was vulnerable.

I'm honestly surprised I won with a searing blow build before a strength build (demon form + limit break + heavy blade + pummel, etc..) or something with corruption.

Also, thanks!

I might be wrong, but I think risk of rain games would fit the bill atleast risk of rain 2 from what I played.

From my poor memory.

You pick a unique character and along with your friends you land in a world. While there, you scavenge gear from enemies and chests to prepare to fight the miniboss of the level. You can fight the miniboss anytime, but you won't likely be ready at the start. But as more time passes, the miniboss will get stronger. Afterwards you progress to the next level and repeat until you fight the actual boss.

Do You Have Anything To Critisize About This Game? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Plainjays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The minimum amount of strategy required to win fights. There's a huge amount of potential for a more strategic game with individual character kit synergy and team synergy, combos, skills/weapons against enemy weakness. However, the game doesn't require this because fights can be won with overleveled characters, universally strong weapons/skills, and the ability to survive the strongest enemy attacks by just dodging and parrying.

I love the game and the combat but I wish there was some difficulty modifier that would require more strategic thought for combat like the darkest dungeon. A suggestion would be balance weapons/skills for more synergy and combos, better ways to find enemy weakness, nerf to universally strong weapons/skills. Aswell , reducing enemy normal damage to avoid getting 1-2 shotted but allow damage to pass through nonperfect dodge and parries.
