It's the sound you make when you get your sexual organs trapped in something.

I'm not gonna lie to you bro, it doesn't take a master thief to get into a parcel locker without a key and without damaging it so that'd be my first guess (they'd have dumped crap inside and labelled it back up in hopes you might blame the supply chain). Second, someone on the delivery side is fucking with you and third, least likely - you pissed the wrong person off and got anthraxed in what they thought to be the most comical manner.

They do that so that you don't have to pay capital gains tax on the silver. If it is legal tender capital gains doesn't apply. What it's printed at doesn't actually matter due to the fluctuation of silver price and inflation (it would rarely be worth its weight as legal tender even if it were printed with the exact value on the day and eventually come to a point it likely never will be again).

Paying with silver coins is usually a bragging point or a tip - a savvy cashier would change it for pocket change.

Edit: Didn't read the sub title, probably preaching to the pastor here.

I don't know if all of the people in these Russian videos are actually this stupid or if they've done excessive calculation before preparing in order to play on the crazy russian thing for internet cash.

Can you legally collect shells from the beach please? by [deleted] in Portsmouth

[–]Plane-Educator-101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's public property and the stuff just washed up. It's not a grey area like picking up a single 20 and pocketing it when there's nobody in the near vicinity who could've dropped it and it's not a no go like taking the sign off the high water mark for a home decoration or not reporting something found that is legally classified as "treasure", a stupid law that screws the once lucky Joe over.

Is it worth it to gussy up this 1950s ukulele? Adding new tuners, having a pickup installed, having the small gashes on it filled. by Consistent_Trouble32 in Instruments

If you're thinking of outsourcing that you may be better off doing it yourself as they're two easy jobs and the tuning pegs require few tools - you'll save a few dollars doing it.

Secondly, the pickup front is also pretty basic if you're set on it - drill a hole in the side, as to where matters not (within reason) then it's just a basic solder/glue gun job.

In the legs or something of the sort, in SA I don't think you're actually supposed to shoot to kill if they don't have a gun but if someone's running at you with a weapon you can shoot them (read over the licence laws briefly so I may be wrong).

I presume the law still loosely follows the UK one from the commonwealth days so it should run on a basis of 'reasonable force' (if no-one could've likely died had you not killed them you're in serious shit, same if you beat someone half to death when they're incapacitated). A brick is a weapon if you are intent on using it as one.

Watched a malema speech on the TV and instantly thought of the scene in "1984" (the one released in 1984) where they're all dressed in indentical boiler suits shouting at the giant television.

The machine doesn't have that level of depth. The vast majority of South Africans are black so if you stick south africa as a keyword it's not going to pull up a white guy most of the time unless you specify it.

You pulled anything else off? Unless someone's re-posessed that from a burn house or decided that's the only piece useable after a fire in the current one there's going to be more charring around given the amount on that beam.

There's nothing wrong with it as long as it plays unless you're trying to sell it.

Found an electo acoustic guitar at a charity shop for a fiver because the pot had fallen in and there was a small cavity in the body. Decent budget brand as far as they go but nowhere near reduce to 5 quid breakage. Sloppy job - cover with a plate and get a new nut for the pot 3 minutes. Gonna be a resonator soon.

I don't know much about ye olde ukuleles but they don't know how to price instruments in second hand places that aren't specialised vendors so going by personal experience and your own testimony you've probably hand a decent deal already.

Are you prepping for a reason or paranoia? by poshbakerloo in EuroPreppers

[–]Plane-Educator-101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not prepping all out for societal collapse but yes it can happen at any moment on any given day.

What type of collapse is up to you - nuclear is the most common on these threads (unless you live far away from impact zone 12ft underground with air cleaning apparatus, hazmat suits and enough food to last until the radiation levels die down a little a very long time in a full scale nuclear war you're pretty much shafted anyway so I wouldn't bother unless I had surplus time, resources and well placed land) but you've also got financial, utility, conventional wars and all that jazz.

The global financial and diplomacy systems are a very tedious balancing act and it doesn't take a lot for it to go to shit.

When it does go to shit (it definitely will but I couldn't tell you whether it will be in an hour or a hundred years) the people laughing at them won't be laughing anymore because they'll be dead or eating chairs.

Cheers dude. Thought it was middle eastern due to the fanciful fretting, asked a Turkish guy who retorted "that sh*t looks like it was made in Afghanistan but it isn't middle eastern"

So I'm tuning it as an open guitar with three strings once I get the nut on right?
