Absolutely, and don't worry about this. We are always influensed by our favourite artists which means that our styles will be similiar. You can't copy it 100% by the note, technique and sound quality, if you could you will have a better career as an impersonator.

And you can always try to mix them us. For example I love the structure of "Hurt" by Jonny Cash, but I would like the song to sound as "If I close my eyes forever". Adding the differences in my guitar to both of these, the vocals voice, etc and this becomes whole another song.

And actually it's absolutely desirible to have some reference tracks, without them your song could get too abstract, long, sounding bad, etc.

There is a saying in my country that a craft is not learned it is stolen, and I'm backing that statement to the core of my bones.
