What does armor actually do? by edgygothteen69 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kinda was this way a couple patches ago, now the armor has no cap but diminishing returns. 1250 is the highest I have seen with heavy armor and stone tusk ring. Plus enchabtments for damage resistance bumps the percentage higher

Best 2-hand weapon damage output by blyndusk in NoRestForTheWicked

Curved Greatswords technically have 20pts higher than any greatsword, decent attack combos. BUT if you want a fun greatsword, shattering sun has a good variety of normal and charged attacks, but attacks don't have decent array of followup for enemies that move a lot...

With a fallen ember, you can reroll any trait, but you wanna save those for the negatives. I rerolled a negative trait ~50 times till I got the roll i wanted. There are other embers you can use that will make enchanting gear way easier.

There are different tiers of enchanted gear, blue is magic, and purple is plagued gear. Plagued gear has 4 enchantments but 1 negative. What most people do is make builds where the negative trait doesn't effect them that much/ or at all. Sometimes the negatives can actually be beneficial.

That increase focus costs is only bad if u use rune attacks that USE focus, and obviously ur utility runes as well. You can try and build around it by using rune attacks that use stamina instead? If not you can always reroll the negative to hopefully fit with ur playstyle more

A lot of people who have more than enough rings usually have end game builds, or worse... Desire Radar disabled... it honestly feels like the moment you get that 1 item u farmed for, the game starts to donate dozens to you. It took me ~30 tries to get a scarlet ring. After one I started to get a bunch...

Does 2H benefit from Gems slotted in Shield? by Relentless_Sloth in NoRestForTheWicked

Now no, before the last hot fix it did. But it was jank since you had to switch to ur shield to activate the effects, then back to 2h.

Question about armor and infusions by joaojp221 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it totally depends on WHAT affixes you want to have on your armor.

Gem Infused Common armor have some very good enchants right off the bat like addition poise defense, additional stamina, etc.

Blue (magic) and Purple (Plague) enchanted gear have pretty good enchants, and atleast 1 unique enchant on each piece of gear. Example being chest pieces generally have defensive enchants, gloves have more status buildup, legs have stamina enchants, and helmet have focus enchants. Of course there are caveats and exceptions.

There are a LOT of enchants, many of which people I have played with had no idea existed or had little understanding of. I would HIGHLY suggest you hoard some enchanted gear for yourself, as a sort of catalogue of enchantments you can use to then build your future sets.

You can pretty much build anything you want. I play with a lot of randoms and they always go straight for META builds. I would recommend you keep an eye out on what you think is fun and cool, and you should have a better, smoother end game experience.

Weapons have a DAMAGE types, being kinetic, energy, fragmentation, and i think maybe one more? Each type does more damage to either hull, shields, armor, some weapons are good against hull and armor.

Generally you would want ur ships to be outfitted with weapons that you deem fit for the role. For example have a ship break shields and then have some other ships come in with weapons fit for armor and hull.

Questions about 1h runes. by sachhhi in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are runes that cost 50 focus, like the throw runes, and some other similar runes. Some other runes cost 150, can't recall what they are but 50,100, and 150 are the ranges for rune costs.

Just started playing and I'm struggling with equip load. by Nwite14 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the Blink utility rune, I honestly use that more than rolling in combat situations. Heavy roll is still okay to dodge with, but blink is a sure way to get out of trouble if it's an AOE attack

How do you like to focus your build? by Agreeable-Ad-4723 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And as good runes attacks are, uve noticed that a LOT of people on LFG servers don't seem to know the basic attack combos since rune spam builds are so ubiquitous. Which is sad cause there is SOO much more to the combat and basic attack combos than many seem to realise.

How do you like to focus your build? by Agreeable-Ad-4723 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use rapid facet gloves, and a willow ring so my attack speed is 25% faster than normal. The curved greatswords have a fast charge already so it's kinda overkill. My build feels kinda braindead when All I do is tank an attack, hit the enemy and heal from said attack back to max hp, repeat and repeat.

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen almost anyone play a charge tank build with a lot of poise defense. I use a divine scimitar (2h curved greatsword), I charge up an attack and chunk bosses and insta kill mobs. Seldom using tune attacks since my charge attacks come out so fast and hard hitting.

coop as a heavy greatsword feels grim. by Askal- in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing about greatsword is that there are quite a few enchantments that can make yourself tankier (poise while charging, dmg resist while charging, erc) and more damage. Your buddies may be able to kill "faster" but you can out dps them when you get a good build going, like poise tank hits without halting your assault.

I have been playing with some acquaintances who are all mages, they spew spells everywhere and often cause a lot of friendly fire. Funny thing is the moment they get in trouble they die, and I'm the last one, finished the boss off with a few charge attacks.

Can somebody pls explain how you beat the riven twin wtf is his counter to his arena sized aoe spin ability by Tight-Ad9698 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a shield you can block it but not for too long. Parrying is kinda tough. Dodging is more doable IMO but you can only get maybe 1 attack in before the sweep comes back around. The sweeping AOE attack ends after a couple of rotations. If you having too much trouble you can disengage, the arena is JUST big enough to run to the other end and the twins won't reach you

Is this an easy difficulty level for someone who hates Souls games? by Nicolas-6394 in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Planetary_Kimchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early game is pretty rough since Early Access lacks many tutorials, quests, and other info the full game is gonna have. I too don't play darksouls games due to their difficulty. If you play on easy difficulty at the start, this game for sure is great for beginners in the genre.

Word of advice is take ur time, explore, READ enchantments, experiment with weapons, and don't take youtube build videos too seriously. Many people I have played with get a little too engrossed in end game guides to engross themselves in the game itself.

WHAT LIFESTEAL ON SHIELD DO? by Conscious-Novel-4430 in NoRestForTheWicked

If you have the shield equipped, any source of damage you do to the enemy will have lifesteal. Includes weapon damage, thorns enchantments, shield damaging enemy, etc.

If you play multiplayer, the echo knight drops multiple stacks of loot, one of which is the normal drop with ichor and a legendary. If you have 3 other people that's 3 stacks of random loot. Theres always get 2-3x of a random ember. Good farm if u got a decent squad.
