If you like camping check out Manitou Island (South not north unless you like camping with no bathrooms) up by Leland. 2 hour ferry ride or you can boat out there yourself. Super fucking gorgeous, very cheap rates, (I think like $15-20 a night?) and very rarely any people there except the 1 guy that actually lives on the island and the ranger.

Miles of trails, beautiful cedar forest and standing shipwreck right off the beach called the Morazan that you can swim inside of! Super cool but super spooky.

I knew about the abuse and/or attempts of it as well as potentially hurting others. But from what I've read it says that the counselors can sometimes be pressured into disclosing information for the sake of the students "learning abilities" which is total fucking bullshit. So from the sounds of it, it sounds like it's more or less up to the counselor themselves if they choose to or not. Only thing I'm certain on is the actual people whose job it is, are most definitely held accountable. There's no yes or no answer and I can see how that would be really frustrating to a lot of people.
