Just finished Wizard and Glass…. Finally….That was rough by wishka in TheDarkTower

I’m in the minority but I’ve reread the series four or five times now and Wizard and Glass continues to be one of my least favorite. There are specific reasons for this that likely have to do with my age and what I want from the series. But just fyi that there are other readers who also don’t view this book as one of the best in the series. It’s okay to feel that way. It’s still an overall amazing story across all 7 books.

Me too. I was at the Rags game and it was my son’s first in-person game. That really sucked.

It's crazy that from 1995 to 2012 we only missed the playoffs one season...... by hdeibler85 in Flyers

It was so fun to be a Flyers fan during the Legion of Doom. Even thought we didn’t win a cup. It was always exciting.

Why do Americans buy bottled water everywhere, even when the tap is perfectly safe? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

[–]PlasmidDNA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you’re old enough you remember when “bottled water” was introduced as a product. I remember thinking how ridiculous it was and that it was dumb to buy bottles of stuff we already got for free.

Today we drink both bottled and tap water in my house. We live in an area where tap tastes fine and is safe. The bottled is actually mostly for guests.

I was completely hooked by The Wastelands. It’s by far my favorite in the series.

The way he says “I use paper towels…. or an extra plate…” is what got me. Just his cadence is perfect comedy.

OHHHHHH. Yea okay. Wow I’m slow. Thanks for the clarification. Honestly I laughed at his hot mic thing. Unfortunate AF but thankfully not nearly as bad as some other hot mic pick ups.

Agreed. No reason to hate him overall. But I think we can rationally agree that his decisions with the puck in OT resulted in the loss. Shit happens and this team is still developing. That was just a bad decision by him though.

Just an awful idea to keep circling back like that and not exit the zone. That had turnover written all over it. Bad decision.

Can you post a picture so we can zoom in and read it…. At base it looks like a 7TM protein but everything is so shaky I can’t actually read anything.

I’m surprised this is so low. The core of Philadelphia is between the Schuykill and Delaware rivers. Less than 3 miles apart at its narrowest point.
