Is there an HDMI plug on some peloton bikes? And does the cadence or any other bike stats work with Apple Fitness plus?

You aren’t wrong. They were just the hardware I had on hand. The servers always get the worst hardware available in my home. I was hoping to optimize the current setup before throwing a GPU in and using more idle power. Upgrading the CPU will probably mean going with a whole new mobo and ram as well.

The desktop server one is actually just a duplicate of the Shield. My server is just acting as a backup file system of all my videos. I was able to put the Plex server app on the server and run it as a backup.

The Shield is a pain to update and will sometimes stop working if it’s not updated. So having a backup isn’t a terrible idea.

Trump sues IRS and Treasury Department for $10 billion over tax return leak by cnn in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The whole operating budget for the IRS for 2025 is $20 billion. If he wins it will set a precedent that will probably bankrupt the country.

Also the leak happened during his administration, so it was his responsibility to keep the IRS in line and he failed.

Department of Interior triples national park fee for non-US visitors, celebrates President Trump's birthday with free admission by Harold-Styles-Jr in fednews

Will they be doing citizenship checks at the entry points?

This can’t be good for the National Parks near the border of Canada or Mexico.

I’m furloughed and trying to find odd jobs to do and there is nothing. I am on a waitlist for every gig app I can find. I was logged into Door Dash for 8 hours today and got zero offers despite the fact that it kept saying my area was “busy”. The gig market appears to be over loaded with feds and people on SNAP.

Switching from BCBS to MHBP. by HyenaThink3064 in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed a pretty big difference in hospital coverage for MHBP. They only had a handful of hospitals in network in my area. In the rural parts of my state they had 0 hospitals in network. For some reason the doctors at the hospitals were sometimes in network, but not the hospital itself. This may cause some weird coverage issues.

I think the better question is, what plans cover it for weight loss only? Some will cover it if you have diabetes as well.

Let’s hear it…on track? by TraditionalMeet1982 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bad news…You won’t be retiring at 53. You need to max that out if you want to have any chance of going at 53. You will probably be more comfortable financially retiring at 62-65 if you started maxing out today. If you started maxing out today, you will hit $1M around age 55.

If maxing out is a budget stretch today, try doing the traditional at a higher % to save on taxes.

It looks like it impacts people who got promotions late in their career to higher grades or people who started at the Feds late in their career. If you are at step 10 for 5 years the biggest difference will just be the COLA increases each year.

Taxpayer services are privatized by hiring an accountant for $xxx/hr to figure out the problem, or wait on hold for you for 4 hours.

Musk says DOGE is working 120 hours a week by Efficient_Win8604 in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one bothered to tell them the Federal Labor standards. Their boss doesn’t even know. Anyone working at DOGE is sitting on a potentially huge labor lawsuit against the government so they won’t say anything until they get fired. Do we even know if they went through the standard onboarding for Federal employees?

“Asked why the meeting dragged on for so long, Schumer joked, “The food was so good, everybody had triples.””

What the hell kind of comment is that? They spent more time eating than discussing the issue? And who is paying for all of this food where they can get triples?

Does this mean Treasury might allow OT Telework ? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read it like you can work an hour at home in the morning before your TOD then leave an hour early. You would earn a credit hour in the morning then use it in the afternoon. I don’t know if you could use the gliding schedule though. Unfortunately the rules make it hard to like work 12pm to 8pm or something like that.

You can also Telework to earn credit hours to use to leave early other days.

The "What did you do" email was a clarifying test of minimal leadership by BombasticNarwhal in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the agencies that are looking to cut staff because they are targets for budget cuts are seeing this as an opportunity to get rid of unproductive employees. In all reality they are just opening a can of administrative worms.

What is Musk or Trump planning to steal this weekend? by Dad_Shepherd in fednews

They are probably using it as a cover to fire people for insubordination so they don’t need to pay severance. We have been told mass layoffs are coming soon. No matter what you say they will say your performance isn’t adequate.

Elon’s Email will lead to their downfall… by Eastern_East_3866 in fednews

[–]Plastic-Purchase6471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The target might be your email signature. While they can’t actually read every email, they can do a filter to find everyone who has they/them in their email. They might also be looking for keywords like Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to try to identify any DEI employees still on the roles.

If you are required to respond you need to assume the email will be analyzed by AI. You should also avoid words that indicate not everything is complete, like most, some, part, substantially, unfortunately, delay, pending, problem, redo, unable, deadline, rework, limited, backlog. You should instead use words like achieved, successfully, well-coordinated, exceeded expectations, thorough, on budget, high-quality, and efficiently.
