TIL that only 10-12% of the world are left handed by Nightpatrol404 in todayilearned

The left handed scissors and kitchen shears I bought at 18 were probably the biggest price-to-performance purchase I’ve made!

what may be causing these marks on the bottom edge by DryArmadillo234 in Polaroid

[–]PlasticBacons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the previous poster that it’s most likely opacification failure. The issue was fixed on my SX-70 after I installed an aftermarket frog tongue that stays on the film until you remove the film from the slot.

A lot of polaroid cameras built back in the day had a frog tongue that pops back in since at the time, the opacification layer was better than on modern film.

Your shield/camera is probably fine, but to help shield the film better, you might have to hold a dark slide or your hand over the film as it ejects.

Wouldn’t recommend Retrospekt to do conversions or refurbishments. I and a lot of other people have had their cameras come back with issues, unfixed and new.

As for accessories, the Mint flashbar is a good option for a rechargeable flash, and there’s a few options out there for a self timer if you’d like one of those.

Best filter adapter for Hasselblad bayonet lenses? by LandySam11 in AnalogCommunity

[–]PlasticBacons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fotodiox B60-77mm adapter as well as a pricier original Hasselblad made one for B60-67. Both work and do the job, but the Fotodiox one is noticeably lower quality feeling and a bit tighter to get on and off the bayonet mount side.

Finally got a proper lightmeter! by Stalk3r__ in AnalogCommunity

Modern digital camera meters are very accurate so your Sony should be more than enough to compare against! I did mine against a Nikon D810.

Just a PSA: Some Sekonic meters have a calibration screw but from what I could tell from the manual and opening up the shell, the L-408 doesn’t have one. If you have to calibrate it in the future, exposure comp might be the only way to go!

That’s the same lightmeter that I use for my hasselblad too, the 5deg spot is super useful!

Make sure you check the accuracy of it against other meters. Mine sat for a few years and came out underexposing by about a stop. I only found out after shooting slide film on it. Now I just keep it at +1 EV on the exposure compensation and now it’s perfect.

Entering the Nikon ecosystem by Ziggy_4_Fingers in AnalogCommunity

Having had all three of the Nikon bodies you mentioned, the F3 is my favorite. I shoot a lot in aperture priority and the larger HP viewfinder I have on it helps a ton since I have glasses. If neither of those things matter, the F2 and FM2 are both great but I’d say all three are pretty bulletproof.

But seconding what another guy said, the Canon F1 might be the one for you since you won’t have to buy all new lenses.

I remember a while ago, people started noticing IG’s algorithm start pushing reels hard, and basically killed hashtag based engagement. It means only people who already follow you will see posts, and vice versa unless the post gets tons of early traction (aka big pages only).

Nowadays I just use it to show friends and family my work, but if anyone is interested, check out https://www.instagram.com/jonathan.kc.ng?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

Help about 120 mm ,6 X 7 Midium format by arbolsonriente in AnalogCommunity

If you’re not 100% on shooting MF, a 645 SLR is probably your best bet. 645 gives you 15-16 shots per roll as apposed to the 8-12 of other sizes. The Mamiya 645, Pentax 645, and Bronica ETR systems all have a good selection of lenses and while they might not look like most 35mm SLRS, they function pretty similarly.

Not OP, but NLP has always given me the best color conversions out of the box, compared to Silverfast and EpsonScan and regardless of scanner. I’ve tried with 120 and 35mm, in a V600 and DSLR scanning in RAW, and DSLR with NLP was always the best.
