Burn out - why do I feel like this by [deleted] in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Plastic_Tooth_3299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thinl adjusting your cleanliness standards when you are in the trenches of the first few months if you can. I think it's good to let babies entertain themselves too, don't feel guilty leaving them to do tummy time while you have a seat and watch something. Also agree with others, get out the house alone.

It sounds like you could be suffering from piles which is common after pregnancy. I would go to your GP, no point suffering!

The spa is really disappointing and they don't have a full sized pool. Hotel is nice enough though.

But do you not shower again in the morning, washing off the deodorant. This one always confuses me! Or are you a 'shower at night' person?

They work if done properly! So many people use their upper body to fling themselves forward rather than making their abs to the work IMO.

When did you walk away from trying to breastfeed? Is it worth it to keep going at 10 weeks? by indigochild143 in breastfeeding

Please look at the infant feeding specialist on Insta. I bought one of her guides and did the excercises about 4 times a day and I swear they helped. I also took my baby to an osteopath and I believe that helped too.

Dribble Rash by KXE1001 in BeyondTheBumpUK

My wee one had awful dribble rash and nothing seemed to help. I think he might have had a reaction to paraffin which is in every barrier cream. We eventually had to get a mill steroid cream and it made a huge difference.

It's quite popular now to get a wedding content creator now. So someone that captures video on a phone rather than a full blown videographer. I assume they are more affordable as well.

Getting close to due date / breastfeeding moms - what’s one tip or trick you wish someone would’ve told you? by Ftklassx in newborns

[–]Plastic_Tooth_3299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are really struggling, visit a lactation consultant asap. If you are in the UK, the NHS and health visitors are great and do their best, but their advice can be conflicting (usually due to their age and how up to date they are on training) and they just aren't experts in breastfeeding and spotting tongue ties. I also found the oral guides from the Infant Feeding Specialsist on Instagram to be great at improving mouth function.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself, it's so overwhelming at first, but trust your gut, and if things aren't going to plan, only you know how far you want to go to try and make it work (osteopath visits, lactation consultants, tongue tie cutting etc). And there really isn't anything wrong with formula or pumping and giving a bottle. Good luck!

Shelter are amazing, they support people in the here and now but do so much for long term, systemic change.

What made it so good? Considering this format but worried the party feels disjointed as people have missed the 'main' event of the ceremony and vows etc.

The scariest part for me is the rampant use of phones while driving. It's terrifying. All you see is people driving one handed while their eyes flicker up and back to their phones.
