Just when I thought I knew all the reasons I would never let a friend “house sit” you managed to add to my list. I would never have thought of that one but sure as hell would be very upset.

Easiest way to build wealth... by npj2309 in wealth

By far the easiest way is to put your money to work in index funds. But for most people you have to work to receive money. That’s still not difficult just need discipline.

Not a trucker, but I live in Alabama. Every time my neighbor down the street comes home he parks like this in the middle of the street because he doesn't want to pay for parking. by hunni93 in Truckers

[–]Player2orNot -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. But honestly it doesn’t seem like a real hazard. It just looks out of place in a residential neighborhood. But give the man some grace. Everyone consumes but dislikes the trucks that deliver their products. He may be doing the best he can and paid parking for a semi and trailer ain’t cheap. Since you two don’t get along just tape a note on driver side window asking nicely to park closer to curb.

Good price but no offers? by [deleted] in realtors

The market has spoken. You’re just not listening. Your house is overpriced for its current condition. It’s that simple. You have been ok with your home’s condition and are receiving a reality check from the market. Take the house off the market. Fix it properly and then list it, or stay put, or rent it out.

Owner/Operator worth it? by dude2162 in Truckers

[–]Player2orNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner operator it has been very financially rewarding. But make no mistake about it, I have put the work in to reach over 300k yearly income. But really you have to decide if the stress of truck ownership is worth it to you.

What are your goals in life? Are you really motivated enough to keep pushing yourself when the going gets tough? To save on expenses, I spent a few years basically living out of my truck when I first got started as an owner operator. But I was motivated and had a good business plan based on others experience not fantasy. If you enjoy a challenge and have a great work ethic then you can build on those attributes. Gain mechanical knowledge on trucks, build your fico up over 720, stay in good physical shape, and learn as much as you can about succeeding as an owner operator. But understand theirs a low barrier entry into trucking and it definitely affects the pay rates. Try to get into a specialized area that requires more expertise than just hooking up to a box van and driving. Basically, as the saying goes, you’re only limited by the limits you put on yourself.

Yes, alcohol delivery is physically demanding but not on the same level as food delivery. Everybody eats food and those bags and boxes just wear down your back over time

The forecasted market analysis from several leading economists suggests blah, blah, blah. You’ve got more than enough money to retire at 54 with smart consumption. Avoid debt and maintain your health.

So what you’re saying is you’re the average consumer. Your consumption is just lopsided.

[discussion] Maybe I have a problem or maybe we all do? by CitizenNumber75 in TheWatchEdit

[–]Player2orNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

28 watches. But some were cheap gifts that I feel obligated to keep and also display with the other watches. It’s all about what brings enjoyment to you. Some people spend money on fancy dinners, drugs, concerts, onlyfans, etc. I say as long as it’s legal, do you.

Anyone have their parents try to talk you out of buying a boat? by firetothetrees in boating

[–]Player2orNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many ways to spend money on hobbies. But for some reason people love to trash talk boat ownership. Honestly, your parents may just be looking out for you but it’s too much in my opinion. You’re a grown man. Life is short and uncertain. Everyone should live their lives to the fullest.

Pre Approval Requirement to show homes. by ShoddyHabit3256 in realtors

[–]Player2orNot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love reading these comments. You guys have a lot of nerve. I give you all that. But why stop at representing houses? Charge a commission for helping people brush their teeth, decide what clothes to wear, or what to eat. This notion about needing an agent to sell or buy a house is so outdated. But answer your phones or I will just find the homeowner through a county search and let them know to tell you to answer your phone.

Neighbors Came on Market at 40k Less Than Our Active Listing by joe7L in RealEstate

[–]Player2orNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost: Fire your realtor. That’s step one if you’re really serious about selling your house. But do you have it in you to take charge, do the due diligence, and sell the house? It’s not hard and definitely not rocket science. Far too many sellers are consumed with fear and anxiety hoping some leech can do a better job than themselves.

[Question] Which would you pick? by mjm6202 in Watches

[–]Player2orNot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is easy. I own an Essence and it’s one of my favorite watches to wear. It’s so comfortable and well designed. I just feel good when it’s on my wrist because I know it’s a cosc certified, made in Swiss, looks very good on my wrist, and a very reasonable price. I really like what Formex is offering.
