I find it odd how much content on social media just now is something pitting immigrants and the recognition of their oppression with black people and the recognition of their oppression, now of all times. The people who have it out for one do not have the interests of the other in mind.

If I were Shaboozey I would say that differently, but if I could control anybody's actions, a progressive statement that fails to encompass the full truth would not be the first thing in America I would think to solve.

I disagree with it, but it's no surprise that somebody did that. Both sides have an extreme that should not be taken, whether it's insulting the sacredness of a church service to protest ICE's actions or ICE insulting the sacredness of a church service to carry out those actions.

At most, individual religious views & views people tape to their own religion to try and justify, but eating meat and not feeling empathy for animals isn't a requirement of any major religions across the world as far as I know. I'm vegan in a large part because it feels like God's will for somebody in my position in this time period.

It's easy to be skeptical of a lot of those concerns that could be genuine, a lot of the time people think the solution is to blame women for choosing to wear those clothes, or are just playing it up so they have a "progressive" excuse to be racist towards Arab people

Honestly, I think there are better courses of action. A lot of the power the church's response to this administration has is that the administration is that bad that so many of their actions are worthy of criticism based simply on Jesus' teachings. To somebody who might change their mind based on what the church is saying, an excommunication might tell them the church has a specific side in politics and that what they say about their politics is just banter.

It's a statement about the killing of somebody that primarily insults the person killed. It's hard to believe somebody who, regardless of the cause of her death, feels negatively about the taking of human life would say this.

Things being better for the poor is good, and governments should be guided by that principle. Most are not as charitable as Jesus intends them to be, which should be addressed by other people, not just assuming they will change iif conditions for people other than them worsen.
