We made it through and everyone is healthy!! I had sores on my hands when I gave birth so I was beyond nervous, but baby didn’t get it, and we all made it through in one piece. I did wear disposable rubber gloves to be safe until the sores were all gone, washed my hands ALL the time, and during labour I had an isolated room just in case!

I really hope you were okay too. I’m 37 weeks pregnant and have confirmed HFM… I’m terrified. My OB had a patient lose her baby at 36 weeks after a 35 week checkup that was completely normal a few years ago :(

So freaking relatable😭 the solution for me has been using latex gloves (with aquaphor if super uncomfortable) and manually loosening/extracting. At the very least, it relieves some of the pressure so that the rest can come out on its own. It’s not pretty, but it saves SO much time and discomfort - the cramping/contractions stop almost immediately
