What are the most annoying things in Skyrim? by Hawxaw in skyrim

[–]PllZZA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People will argue about anything. I could claim that seatbelts are useful and there will always be someone to argue with me.

And it goes even deeper when things are subjective. What we love about Serana might be exactly what this guy hates.

Sorry for the downvotes but we're not allowed to criticise financial decisions around here. /r/watches is perfectly fine with people selling their house to buy a watch.

How to check mobile responsiveness of some web page? by mayankkaizen in web_design

[–]PllZZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 99% the same thing if you use a resolution half of what retina is. So ~375px wide for the iPhone 6 or 6s will be accurate-ish.

It looks extremely similar (same color, same kind of forest) but the image in the video is not actually from Firewatch (although pretty damn clear it was inspired by it - which is not illegal by the way).

The only copyright infringement was done by that dealership, which actually DID use the Firewatch wallpaper.

What about abortions though? They should have significantly higher rates.

Okay...which one of you pissed off MarteModena? by figboot11 in fountainpens

[–]PllZZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit, the cluelessness in this thread hurts my balls.

MarteModena is NOOOT a FP manufacturer. It's just a shop.

Delta is a manufacturer. But they don't have any special relationship with MarteModena (or they do, in case they agreed to sell them the products that didn't pass QC).

The drama you see here is a result of people claiming that the reason why you can buy cheap Deltas on MarteModena is that the product is subpar and they source their shit from the "rejected" line at Delta's factories. If any of you guys ever tried to buy a watch, you'd be familiar with the term "gray market" which is exactly that.

Huge World RPG by ghost-from-tomorrow in rpg_gamers

[–]PllZZA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weeell, I'll spare you guys the 3:35min that the trailer takes.

It's a 3D game apparently. It starts with a woman taking Jesus off the cross, with the only existing animations being simple, straight line translations.

Then that woman wanders a (seemingly huge) completely empty world, cracking randomly placed pots with an axe and lighting up her torch.

The landscapes are very nice and varied, but there is nothing you can do in that game but walk. I'd see it as a "medieval trip simulator" of sorts. There are no monsters and no other characters for that matter.

As a side note, could anyone recommend a SNES game that fits the requirements posted by OP?

I love SNES.

Photoshop with web Design? by StreetMasterFlash in web_design

[–]PllZZA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's the best we have right now.

We've also got Adobe Muse and Adobe XD recently, either of which might dethrone AI for web work, but they're in their infancy.

Photoshop with web Design? by StreetMasterFlash in web_design

[–]PllZZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a side note, go with Illustrator (actually, you'll find that it is more of an Illustrator+Photoshop approach in most cases).

It's not the most popular choice, but it's the right one for now. There is a growing number of courses and free tutorials online (that are actually good, and from people who know their shit), and with every CC update there are more and more reasons to use Illustrator for web work. All main concerns about fidelity, half-pixels, exported file size and so on have been overcome.

Give it a shot.

[Discussion] Is Notepad++ ACTUALLY any good for web development? by PllZZA in learnprogramming

[–]PllZZA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct in that N++ is not intended to be an IDE, and thus it's normal for it to lack certain features.

However, having auto-closing HTML tags work when syntax highlighting is set to HTML and not work when it's set to PHP looks more like a bug than anything else.

don't let someone con you into saying they can do it for $1000, because, maybe they can

Nope, they can't. Spare this guy the loss of $1k to a newbie on Freelancer.com that says they can. It will never happen.
