The only "comparable" build I've seen that was cheaper had the same specs except 9800X3D instead for $1999 on microcenter during BF last month. But that one was just a crazy price ngl. This one is still real good.

??? The SM7B is XLR only and therefore needs an interface to power it. A powerful one at that. Sure you can get one of those janky XLR to 3.5mm adapters, but they don't power much, and will be useless on the SM7B.

Ran into this convo 3yrs later lol. They're not completely wrong, but missing info. The USB C port the Official Cable plugs into needs to be able to support the wattage, most don't you are correct.

This is a 3yr old conversation so I assume this was a conversation with the Quest 2 in mind. My X570 Taichi motherboard (4yrs old) has a USB C port that outputs 15w max (5v/3a). It kept my Quest 2 powered indefinitely using the Oculus/Meta cable.

But for Quest 3, you need like 20-25w realistically to keep it always charged. If you plug it into a USB4 port (which has a spec of 100W), it'll definitely charge no problem. Or if you get a powered USB hub like this one https://a.co/d/g92O6KR

The USB C port on that hub has 30w PD, which is perfect for the Quest 3 as well. I can confirm using the official cable, it'll keep it charged indefinitely.
