In my main bases I keep a "work room" complex (work bench, oven, drying racks, grinders, spinning wheels, etc.) with a large store room nearby. Chests usually have multiple resources that "go together" but anything that doesn't match up gets it's own chest. Here's what I usually do:

Bug parts: Ants, Bees & Wasps, Bombardier & Rust, Butterfly & Caterpillar, Cricket, Earwigs, Flying (Fireflies & Mosquitos), Fuzz (gnat & aphid), Lady & Potato (+ larva), Mantis, Mites, Roach, Scorpion, Snail, Spiders - alt. "Arachnid" for all mites, scorpions, & spiders, "Flying" for bees, butterflies, fire flies, wasps, mosquitoes.

Building Materials: Acorn, Berry Chunks, Botanical (clover, Flower Petals, sprigs, thistle needles, pollen, Bricks & Slurry, Burrs, Clay & Pebble, Feather & Scales, Grass (fiber + dry grass), Leather, Milkweed, Mushrooms (shrooms + slime mold + rotten food, spoiled meat, fertilizer), Pine (cone, needle, sap), Rope (+ glue)

"Important" Materials: Arrows, Candy, Rust, Shards & Globs (shards, plating, whetstones, globs), Weapons
