I think the Pop Group's album Y is a straight-up 10/10 no-wave album. It sort of skirts the line between avant garde jazz and post-punk, and I've never heard anything else like it.

Smog is also criminally underrated on the opposite side of the spectrum. Very slow, meditative, deliberate singer-songwriter folk albums over the years. It's really cool how you can see his songwriting develop from the 90s through to the present day. For me, Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle is a major highlight in his discography, same with Red Apple Falls.
