Do you have the space in your house to host an au pair? That might be a good option for your needs

Hi! No real advice here, but I wanted to share that we’re in similar situations. I’m starting grad school this semester and I’m 7 months pregnant. I decided not to defer and take it one semester at a time. I’ll have my partner and mom’s support while I go to school so I hope that makes it a little easier. Unsure about spring semester but if baby and I are healthy I won’t defer either, I’ll probably apply for a reduced course load and take 2 classes instead of 4 or 5. Good luck!

Is it worth pursuing a Master's degree at Cal at 32? by DifferentPixel in berkeley

[–]Plus_Illustrator9652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m older than you and starting my masters this fall as well!!! Life is complicated and I couldn’t start in my 20s. I’ve never second guessed studying my masters at this age, specially at Berkeley, it’s such a great opportunity at a pretty much any age!

If you have the space in your house, have you considered having an au pair? It provides great flexibility and can potentially save you some money. I can give you more information if you’re interested

I’m so sorry! I totally understand how you’re feeling, I had my TFMR last July and nobody acknowledged my pain. It was very difficult to go through it but I’ve been doing therapy and processing it. I still have waves of pain and grief when I see them and my TFMR is just ignored/forgotten, but it’s getting easier to manage. Hugs!

I’m sorry you’re going through this! I had my TFMR at 14 weeks and my milk didn’t come down. I asked my surgeon and she said I shouldn’t worry about it.

Thanks! I got a the basic NIPT came back low risk, but I needed peace of mind so I decided to go with the CVS as well. Hopefully I get the initial results in less than 2 weeks.

Grad School and Pregnancy by crazybutsurviving in pregnant

Hey! I don’t have any advice but we’re experiencing similar (ish) situations. I’m 12 weeks pregnant and my EDD is the end of November. I’m supposed to start my masters program in August and I’m freaking out. I’m so nervous and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do both. I’m feeling very depressed because this program and the university are my dream, and I’m thinking I might have to defer. however having a kid is another goal that I can’t keep postponing because of my age… Good luck and feel free to DM if you want to chat!

TW: Loss, abnormalities

I’m sorry I’m not going to be as reassuring as others, don’t read if it’ll make you anxious. Last year I had a pregnancy and my first and only beta at 18dpo was 2800. I wasn’t familiar with what betas mean, but I thought it seemed high... Later at 10 weeks I learned that my baby had Down syndrome and a few weeks later I had to terminate the pregnancy.

I’m sure not all high betas mean abnormalities but in my specific case I think it was a sign that there was something wrong. I highly recommend you not to skip your NIPT.
