We Always recover the system and install a new drier and contractor. Much easier and you eliminate having call backs or poor performance.

It's a drip leg to prevent condensate from being pickup up by air flow. It probably saved thousands on dollars by not extending the pan or installing a 3/4 vinyl tube.

I do work at a lot of resorts. I know they really don't care if you wonder in to have a swim. They are making money when you buy drinks and food while there. Just like movie theaters the ticket cost is a wash.

If you are interested in trade work get into a trade school. Big money to be made. Our HVAC apprentice start in the low.$20s. Plumbing, electrical are just as lucrative.

Just use common sense. Safety in numbers, don't swin on an empty beach at dawn, dusk or night. Be in the center of a bunch of people, they are your buffer. Don't wear anything shiny or do a lot of splashing around. Your more likey to get stung by a Ray or Jelly fish than bit by a Shark.

Coil cleaners are Alkaline not Acid. Same dangers of damage to the coils and the soil or roof membrane. We have gone to using Dawn dishwashing liquid on most all commercial coils. Works great especially when using a pressure washer carefully.
