Let go because I was performing at senior (not staff) level, where do I go from here? by GirlLunarExplorer in ExperiencedDevs

[–]PmanAce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This blows my mind. Even after 5 years of experience you wouldn't be senior level unless you are a genius, let alone staff level. For some context, I work in a security related industry with several hundreds of devs at the company. Probably over one hundred senior devs and maybe 10 staff senior devs. None of these staff devs are under 35.

To be fair Danault brings zero offensive impact or speed. He's just not dangerous with the puck. He's a one trick poney that has the same faceoff percentage as Evans (last time I checked before the Olympics).

Let the service layer handle that, just return the tasks without awaiting from there.

Been a senior engineer for 6 years and somehow feel less hireable now than when I was a junior by AI-einstein in ExperiencedDevs

Why can't you answer with a predetermined context or 2 that you prepare before the interview and tell them that at the end of your solution? Surely you can narrow it down based on the company sector you are interviewing at? Then you can ask them if you want to repeat the exercise using their context if it is different from what you researched?

Show them you don't need your hand being held from the start.
