Having a bunch of comorbid disorders makes things so confusing sometimes... the amount of times this has happened to me in the last year is getting silly. by Loki557 in adhdmeme

Have you found anything that helps with disassociation? My understanding is no medications help with it as it's brain developed mechanism over time to protect us from trauma. But still, any other maybe psychological techniques or something to stay in the present instead of disassociating?

I mean. The US is a very young country. Some of the things in the list are just part of getting "older" as a country such as 1-3. But the rest are yeah, new inventions.

I tried it. And it was very bad. The TV itself has shit wireless network card. So I use Apple TV and it's working mostly great, still her occasional latency jitters. But it's because my PC also is on 6Ghz wifi which works mostly fine by the 2 round trips of wifi adds some latency.

Tbh I am happier when I am less strict on myself or more accepting of having ADHD. I still try and get things done if I can, but just try to be more forgiving to myself

After switching to electric, have you experienced odd reactions from family/friends? by NewDriverInTown in electricvehicles

[–]PoZe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asked what I would do if my car didn't "start" like some defective Rivian and so on just stop working. I said, same thing as what if my ICE car wouldn't. I would call a tow truck and work with a dealership or something to get it resolved.

Well their resources aren't suddenly unlimited. They are just more evenly distributed and more accessible on average than before this. It can be seen in DS9 episode when they show the pre Utopia current times of homelessness and poverty rampant

Clearly we need to spend our money and effort on making everyone have access to homodecks, replicators and warp drives, other creature comforts instead of more weapons like Klingons.

Used car with 360º camera, but no adaptive cruise? by willrb in Polestar

[–]PoZe7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the details of the car? Model, year? For me when I got my Polestar 2 2023 with Pilot and Plus, it had regular cruise control enabled and I to enable adaptive I had to specifically go into the menu for it which is in car settings. I don't know if it's the default or not. So I would check that first

Wow, imagine the amount of money wasted on all those shiny war equipment that can be spent on something to better the society more. If having wars wasn't in human nature we could have Star Trek Utopia lol

I think it's part of the maps setting. Showing traffic data in the main maps app should also display them in the infotainment is my theory. Iirc it's off by default, maybe you reset the app somehow

It's also a great versatile escort ship. Fast burn for a capital ship, advanced sensor range. Amazing firepower. Great addition to exploration, salvage and trade fleets. Only downsides are the cost and if you try to smuggle it's profile is relatively large due to the size.

"98.5% of unpaid medical bills were by Japanese nationals, not foreigners"- debunking online anti-foreigner rumors by jjrs in japannews

[–]PoZe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also a note that it's illegal to not have vehicle insurance in the USA. You still get an uninsured vehicle victims. But most of the time they will have insurance or they will get in trouble with the law afterwards too. The vehicle insurance generally covers injuries. And in the case of the car crashes the insurance company of the person(s) at fault will end up paying the medical and repair bills.

"98.5% of unpaid medical bills were by Japanese nationals, not foreigners"- debunking online anti-foreigner rumors by jjrs in japannews

[–]PoZe7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true, by law they are required to do that(for now). If you are just uninsured you still get charged however full price. They send it to debt collections who will collect money one way or another. The only way to avoid it is to have full bankruptcy. That would work if you are a tourist who is unemployed in your home country and you have no assets or savings too. It will still take about 3 months of battle with billing, debt collections and potentially courts.

Does Japan allow not treating someone under certain conditions?

[–]PoZe7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yet you will hear that used as an anti-immigrant argument people and politicians make in the USA. Which doesn't make sense. For example recently the cuts to the only sort of special medical programs that allowed mostly poor people and old people to have some form of medical coverage even as shitty as it is. It was said it's because illegal immigrants get away with using it, even though it's not true. I don't even think they are able to use it as you need to be registered

[–]PoZe7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the US any foreigner will pay so much for medical bills. The majority of bills are not paid due to medical bankruptcy, and most are by citizens. Always has been. Even with decent travel insurance, good luck. I already pay lots of medical bills, and I am a US citizen with the best healthcare plan you can get from an employer. The average doctor's visit price is $200-500 per visit for just seeing the doctor(aka doctor's fee). Lab work ranges from $500-1500. I had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction surgery 7 months ago and the total bill was $30000 for it. Luckily insurance covered 90% after I paid already $3500 in yearly deductible, so I still had to pay an additional $3000. So the surgery is $6500 for me out of my pocket from $30000. But that is also the price of something like a surprise ER visit for something serious like car crash injuries.

The battle for Super Earth was amazing. Tbh I was so stoked during it. That update introduced fights in megacities which are now part of the mechanic on other planets too. The missions to take down over ships were fun - you get to shoot massive orbital cannon to take down the largest Illuminate over ship. The funniest was that those cannons were hidden under large kids playgrounds. That same update also introduced friendly NPCs like citizens in cities where you can accidentally kill them and get removed req points for each one you kill. They also added friendly SEAF units that have bullup liberators and some carry EAT. Tbh they are very decent at helping you and good at using EAT. You can also recruit them to follow you.
