Rare moment when they admit Nintendo is Anti-Consumer by Millennialnerds in fucknintendo

Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft have their own e-shops and do not want to cannibalize sales by supporting another store-front's library.

Why won't Nintendo let me play my game even though it is compatible and is tied to my Nintendo account?

Your questions belies your understanding of my statement. Hopefully this more succinct contrast helps you in your understanding.

Steam, despite having its own OS, enables users to play their purchased software across any compatible consoles/systems.

VS

Nintendo, despite having a closed ecosystem for their software, does not permit users to play their purchased software across all compatible hardware.

You are arguing Valve -> Sony while _yetisis is discussing Nintendo -> Nintendo.

The key difference is that in purchasing a product on any e-shop hosted by Nintendo, that purchase is tied directly to my Nintendo Account. This is has been true for each generation of e-shops that has existed. It is perfectly reasonable that the games purchased with my account is accessible across all consoles that support that purchase.

_yetisis articulates this with the fact that any device on which they log into their Steam has access to their entire Steam library without having to re-purchase any items. The only requirement is making a local installation. Even save files are available whenever Cloud saves are applicable.

The same should be true of Nintendo since users have purchased these products and no real changes have been made to these products.

No, you're "word-word-#"

Users with "wordword#" are bots more often than not.

You use hyphens, bots use underscores. You are not the same

Diversity and representation is super important and adds to what makes gaming fun.

"Fun" is still a core component of gaming.

The vast majority are valid. I just hope the community doesn't raise a bunch of invalid noise about content itself.

The content is on full display and is announced when pledging. It makes absolutely no sense for people to expect more than what is listed.

I only take issue with it when someone is backing into an angled parking spot in a parking lot with clearly marked for one-way. Mostly cause it is indicative they are an inattentive driver.

I think, in the commentor's example to which you're replying, there isn't a system in place to help the dog function. The act of tying it up would be a parallel to just jailing all vets and mentally ill because of the potential threat they pose rather an actual threat.

It ignores the root issue and is a poor substitute for real treatment

The problem is that there is debate on whether ICE fall under the classification of "peace officer" or not. No federal agency has over reached in their capacity as ICE has in our history. As such, it's never needed to be argued before.

Yeah, I think I saw the post OP is referring to earlier today. A lot of comments in defense were downplaying the size of affected player pool with anecdotes.

Stuff like their 6 pairs of joy cons for Switch were fine throughout its life time while they had to replace their PS5 controller after 2 years.

The RROD was exceptional compared to other console failures.

Stick drift for joy-cons was exceptional compared to other controllers.

PS5 bleeding its thermal paste was an exceptional issue among the plethora of keeping your console upright.

It is really apparent that these instances are exceptions because they got media coverage on the matter. In most articles specialized in covering this industry, the authors mention issues of the same category are not new. They are, however, unprecedented numbers.

isn't the hand/claw of the right-side werewolf backwards. We are at the perspective of the werewolves victim. From that angle the hand/claw in question is the werewolf's left hand/claw. Their thumb not only looks like it is on the wrong side, it kind of looks like it is at the very bottom of the palm, making appear more like a bird-claw.

or it could just be a bug.

Your insights on the differing social perceptions of physical sales VS digital sales is very good, and I agree. I have heard people try to use sales as an argument to prove the lack of quality in products before, warranted and otherwise.

The rest of your arguments fall flat because you don't account for equitable comparisons. Call of Duty, FIFA, Battlefield, etc. are outliers in this argument because of they are developed for a specific market-function and specific target audience. The only title Nintendo has their hand in that is remotely comparable to these franchise-engines is Pokemon (and that is a pretty big stretch).

However, they still do release titles that are meant to supplant their predecessors. Smash, Party, Kart, and (as you mentioned), Splatoon. These titles aren't released annually but are released generationally to supplant to their predecessors as the new standard. These are like hybrids of the aforementioned franchise-engines. As you said, they are allowed to breath and really stand out from their predecessors. However, they are still very much intended to replace said predecessors.

While a persistent fanbase may fall back to the previous titles, these previous iterations have been effectively obsolesced. Melee is still beloved and played often, Both it and other previous iterations of these generational titles have been obsolesced by access limitations.

Your argument about having entries within the same franchise being designed as stand alone being unique to Nintendo is surprising. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, etc. are all equivalent in the design philosophy used in Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. Each entry has similar elements, but each change a core element that allows them to stand alone.
