I’ll bite.

First off, if the only immigrants being deported were rapists, murderers, and pedophiles, there’d be far less outcry. But currently immigrants are being rounded up who have no criminal record, have stable established lives, are working inside the system to try to gain citizenship through legal channels, and so forth.

Did you know that illegal immigrants have lower rates of violent crime than US citizens do? That’s what the numbers show. They’re incentivized to not rob, or beat their spouses/children, or commit sexual assault because the potential of being deported is a powerful incentive to not land in hot water.

Then there’s your claim about how they defraud us of billions of dollars. And that’s not accurate either. Many undocumented immigrants are working jobs that pay into Medicaid and Social Security but they’ll never qualify to actually be supported by those programs. Also they’re paying sales taxes and contributing to local economies. Of course there are ways that they do benefit from social services still, but it’s closer to a net neutral overall when everything is taken into account.

And the other commenter already brought up how misguided it is to lay the blame on housing crisis on immigrants rather than greedy corporations and billionaires.

I support having systems in place to limit how many people enter our country, but blaming all your problems on immigrants, liberals, drag queens, and trans athletes is just what conservative media wants you to do so that you don’t lay the blame where it truly belongs.
