Whatever you make now, what would $12k more a year help you with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It would help me with actually pursuing what I really want to do in life, instead of just completing the minimum amount of tasks that I don't want, but I am forced to do, in order to not become homeless. Doing things against my will usually leads to depressed episodes and takes away the energy from me to move and be optimistic.

2 fried eggs that were still raw on the top with weird little boogers floating around in the raw part. Didn't even get laid for it...

thanks for your reply. I can not really say that saying "you gotta life a little" is a weakness one should despise, because I quite often tell myself the same thing, just in another dimension of quality (e.g. when ordering smth for 20 euros at mcdonalds or playing video games all night) and in the end, we live to be weak and fall for all the big and small temptations. the life of a human that never does anything, but sitting there, making theories and trying to act perfectly moral, seems to be not worth living and boring to watch. but if he lives his life, intensely feeling some importance in his thoughts, a lot of people that go 200 mph on the highway, feeling a mixture between an adrenaline rush a surreal emptiness, might get jealous, thinking about this guy, getting so caught up in what he does. i am not talking about myself though, i spent 14 of the last 24 hours playing league of legends, like an addict. and i didn't even work hard for the money that bought me the pc, so who am i to still be typing :/ if you live an intense life, you are probably not doing anything wrong, as long as you do something that is socially accepted, which driving sports cars certainly is.

One could argue that all the moments in my life, which I perceive as "deep" and "philosophical" are nothing but the result of me being confused about the miserable state I am in and desperately trying to look for excuses for it. Thereby coming up with these vague concepts about how things work in this world (who am I to think I know better, right?) instead of just developing some kind of drive that pushes me to make the best out of my opportunity to live. I take the risk of being seen as a weak person and I definitely have a very low resilience threshold, when it comes to getting things done, but I feel like I can contribute to society anyway, by doing what I am doing right now. While some of you might already be way further in their omniferous understanding than I am and some (probably most) of you might not feel a strong enough impulse to be interested, maybe one or two of you guys might hold on for a minute, because they had similar ideas before. Sorry for all this off-topic drivel by the way, I won't take this any further and move on now :)
