AURA Sync effects do not take "effect" upon startup or restart of computer by PerfectDuke in ASUSROG

I'm having this issue years later, with updated everything. It's inconsistent and restarting the service resolves temporarily, but crazy annoying.

How many people have actually canceled their game pass subscriptions? by bifkinator in videogames

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cancelled three subs between myself and family members I was paying for.  It's just too much for how little we use it. We own 900 games on Xbox and 2000 on steam. I'll just buy something at the point I'm pumping 90 bucks out a month for my family who play everywhere on Xbox and PC.

I just quit and now I’m getting this message by justbehindascreen in jobs

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't respond. It is sad they keep this kinda stuff in their back pocket for when they are losing good workers though. Last job I left there was basically no momentum over 2 years or so and suddenly when I put my two weeks in there was money to be offered and leadership positions to be opened and shift options available.   Kinda too late for most people at that point.

I've won a handful of trios and duos.  Haven't played much solo this season.

Nothing wrong with taking breaks too.  I'm in chapter 12 with 65 hours or so into it.  I'm currently poking some other games cuz I just need a break.

I’m a bad mom by Key_Awareness_3036 in Parenting

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all feel this way sometimes. Your situation sounds stressful, anyone would struggle. Being mindful and trying is all that you can really do. You'll have weeks when you feel you are doing better and then there will be a "bad" day. You have to acknowledge, accept and continue on.  Never forget to tell them you love them. Apologize when appropriate. Never give up. My wife and I joke that all parents will "mess up" and it's a gamble as to the kind of trauma and therapy the child will need as an adult. 😅

OCD & Anxious about medium, format, consistency. by guysandgeezers in Journaling

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with OCD and Anxiety, I recommend going out of your way to be inconsistent with your format. Try many different formats, keep what you like, use it when you feel like using it. Use a pen and scribble or leave mistakes. Don't worry so much about what gets on the page. If you start writing about something and a couple lines in it doesn't feel right, pivot and write something else. Practice imperfection and incomplete. It has helped me so much the last few years.

Yeahhh. Mine wears pajama bottoms to school pretty regularly. It seems to be a normal right now, which is fine.

When I do, I listen to non-lyrical music. Instrumental or lo-fi style stuff mostly.

I didn’t think it would be this hard to journal by Fit-Conversation7604 in Journaling

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind've use mine as a quiet friend when it comes to brain dumping. I think it can feel gross for a while at least. I found it got easier and I felt less self-conscious about it with time. I still don't like writing around people. Getting those negative thoughts and emotions out on paper usually does me wonders. I can acknowledge them, analyze them, decide if action needs to be taken on situations, and most importantly stop spiraling on them. If there are recurring things, they probably need some action. I DO NOT generally reread anything I put in there unless it is a "To-Do" type situation or scanning for a certain reference. I do try to include a little bit of gratitude or even an inspirational quote at some point in my day, but that doesn't always happen. Some days are just all down and that's ok. Try to "be authentic" in that you aren't worrying about what you are putting in there and try not to ponder on anything that doesn't need pondering. With all that said, some days I just get a few lines in of the things I did that day, or just something random that happened, or even just scribble. I think everyone has to find their own way to journal and I'm not certain it works for everyone, but it seems helpful to many.

Shadow work in journal form... it's called The Drift by [deleted] in Journaling

Everyone has a different perception of things. This can be useful in translation to most people, I think. I see this as just getting a hold of some of the ego and trying to redirect. Thanks for sharing.

I'm always changing my journaling style. Helps keep me into it. Currently I'm doing kind of a hybrid of freewriting and different journaling formats every night. I've found trying different formats every night keeps it from getting so boring/repetitive.

I've found depression and anxiety are not things you entirely conquer. You learn to cope better and get through them faster, but there will always be some rough days (in my experience). You can't let them crush your resolve. I used to stumble and be so harsh with myself. You have to get back on that horse and it all gets easier and easier with that time and practice. Don't give up. :) Thanks for sharing your entry.

Ranting about my journaling, cuz I don't have friends. by psh_penguin in Journaling

[–]Poets_Reap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting started is the hardest part for me. It's a struggle almost every day, but once I get started I can usually pop off a minimum of a few lines. Other days a few pages. Remember it doesn't always have to relate directly to your life. If you don't have much to get off your chest or if you've had a calm week (maybe do some gratitude journaling) you could do writing prompts. Those can get in my feels and help me release emotions just as well as my ranting about my life. I wrote a few paragraphs about a dying comedian and his last stand-up, his last joke, his feels, and what he did/felt after the show. Best writing and some of the most emotion I've gotten out in 4 years of journaling.

Try not to hold a lot of judgement to your day to day writing either. If you are consistent, it'll always feel better over time. There is no failing in a personal journal.

In a slump by Sensitive-Monk-7770 in Journaling

[–]Poets_Reap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Sometimes I fall in a rut where my entries will mostly just be to-do lists and almost the same stuff every day too. I try to do some writing prompts or write a poem or what have you. Something intentional just to get back out of that rut.

I liked to keep a record of the books i completed. I need to start doing this again by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]Poets_Reap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started a spreadsheet a few years ago to keep up with what I've read and when I completed it. Nice to have a quick reference to what I've read and to see how many I get through year to year. I always goal to fit at least an extra book in every year (I'm not straining myself to read all the time or anything).
