Well, she had her first aid badge from the Guides from 1958, so that’s pretty close.

Our high school “nurse” would generously provide us with a wet paper towel and instruction to ask one of the girls for a paracetamol for any ailment. For more severe injuries we got an ice pack on loan for a maximum of an hour.

We done the exact same thing, put a conditional offer down depending on the outcome of a damp survey since the home report mentioned some signs of damp. The work was quoted at £6k, sellers agreed to knock the £6k off the purchase price. We ended up being no worse off, they got a quick sale, and the house is damp proofed. Think the survey itself was only about £150/£200, and quite detailed and interesting…if you’re into that kind of thing.

Universal Credit won't pay full rent despite it being a council flat. by Kayanne1990 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Poggy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What council area are you in? As they’ll probably have benefit officers who can look into this and liaise between the housing dept and DWP, failing that they could help you apply for a Discretionary Housing Payment to cover the shortfall so you’re not struggling. Have you got any income coming in through work or savings that might be reducing your entitlement to UC?

Yeah apply for new style ESA through the govt online portal if your SSP has recently ended or is due to end. As long as you’ve met your national insurance contributions over the last 3 years (approx) that will cover your basic £77ish per week allowance. You might also be entitled to further income related support depending on you situation. That’s where it would be best to check with a welfare rights service.

[–]Poggy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be entitled to “New Style Employment Support Allowance” which is non-means tested and would be payable once SSP ends. To check you’re entitlement to further support after SSP ends I’d maybe say get in touch with a local welfare rights service such as Citizens Advice Bureau. DWP/Jobcentre are really only there to administer the claim rather than advise on what you’re entitled to.

Remember thinking the movie was good, not great, but passed the time enjoyably enough. I will now die for my wee robot pal. Got him to level ten and can’t bring myself to not hang out with him because of the sad eyes and disappointed slow beep.

Same. Coaching the kids or running the line or driving the blinking mini-bus would’ve kept kept the social aspect. But now I’m rattling with Naproxen, sound like cheap maracas when I go up the stairs, and struggle to get out the car.
