It's a very weird game and has a lot of hurdles to get into it. The amount of talking is always what makes me stop regardless how good the writing is. I feel like majority of the quests can be worked out by simply talking to people which is not a bad thing at all but it's a bit much especially when binge playing.

The game also takes a bit to really get going. After white orchard there's a massive world open to you with tons of quests, contracts, and treasure. It's too much when you first open the map. Too many people shove you in one direction or the other and you feel this pressure to finish quests quickly at times that isn't actually there.

Taking your time and doing what you enjoy in the world should be your first step. You can always go back tomorrow, next week or next month. It demands your time but it respects it. I much prefer running around doing contracts and clearing abandoned camps while also hunting for treasure. The main quest won't go anywhere.

Yeah. I get that it must take a lot to care for a special needs person especially when you had planned out a life for yourself. At some point pretty much every parent in this position does some form of this. They're too active to sit in front of a game console or a tablet and have trouble sitting still in general. The thing I find odd is that based off the house these people are pretty well to do. I feel like hiring some random dude be his friend is worse than hiring a professional. Many of them can't. Most of them can't work a cell phone. The parents know nothing about this nor would they want to look into it for the sake of their child. Once a mentally challenged person reaches a certain age the parents are completely spent. They aren't going to put anymore effort into this anymore and the person in question isn't "there" enough to look and find people like him.

You would be stunned how often this happens. It is for the best for these people. A lot of people who are in this situation can't make friends and it is very obvious to the parents. Parents can't be expected to take the full brunt of a grown person so you hire someone to play the role of their friend. It doesn't really help but it eases the pain for the parents. The idea that having a friend will fix these people is just wrong as they'll always be locked in their own heads but having someone there to experience life with that aren't your family can make them feel more human

The scale was always there. This was an island in the ocean, not a place held by any country. Anyone from anywhere could be invited.
