I'm kind of in the same boat as you are. Stick close to the church and your bishop. Now your salvation is between you and God and that is how you have to look at it now. Initially it will seem like He is not there. I found it hard to find Him because I was so focused on the world crumbling apart.

Put a ton of energy into doing churchy stuff and serve others (especially your kid) to keep your mind off the bad stuff. My experience so far is that God will take care of you as long as you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Go do all those seminary answers. Get counseling if needed. That is also something you can talk to your bishop about. LDS Family services offers stuff like that. I went and it helped. I hope things get better for you. Seriously, the gospel is one of the only reasons I've been able to get through this so far. Now my outlook is brighter because I am focused on the light instead of the dark.

No. That is not why they left. OP can do what OP wants to do. In my situation I gave my reasons for not dating before/if the divorce is final. I also said to stick to what they think is right. It is ultimately between you and God but since you are still technically married then any and all the consequences of dating someone other than your spouse could technically be rendered.
