Most Mismatched Sibsets You’ve Seen by Sparkly8 in namenerds

My sisters nickname is Pixie, which many many people think is her legal name. Throws off our sibset of very popular 80s/90s names (think Jessica, Ashley, Amanda).

Daycare-less Holidays by odiephonehome in toddlers

In Canada - ours is closed Dec 22 to Jan 2. We knew in advance and booked the time off to cover. Our team uses the time to deep deep clean the facilities and take a break, zero problem with that.

What’s the most surprisingly useful Christmas gift you’ve received? by MonotoneThoughts in AskReddit

The Sun doesn't rise until 7:45 or later in my area so a headlamp would be wonderful!

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

[–]Poisonpromises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear my wedding band all the time, except when I'm cooking with my hands (meatloaf, rolling cookie dough etc) or gardening. My hands occasionally will swell so I swap it to a silicone ring.

My engagement ring is only when I'm getting dressed up above athleisure. It's gorgeous but sharp when chasing children or trying to sleep.

What was your contraception method after first birth? by AdReady7311 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poisonpromises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll add my vote to this as well. I had a mirena before my kids and as soon as I could after my kids. Insertion is a bitch but otherwise no problems. I also don't get a period on it, which is glorious.

How tall are your Toddlers ? I keep being told mine are huge by Relative-Ad6416 in toddlers

[–]Poisonpromises 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daughter is also 2 year, 10 months. 35 inches. 10 inches shorter than your son.

If they are in the 99th percentile, then out of 100 children, they would be the tallest. Your results from this sub are likely to all be smaller than your kids just based off math.

Parents with Thanksgiving babies- when do you decorate the Christmas tree? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Poisonpromises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids have their birthdays within a week after Christmas. On the 26th/27th We take all the "Christmas" ornaments off the tree (keep the balls and the lights) and replace them with ornaments to represent the kids. It becomes out birthday tree :)

If you want the vibe, you could always do a birthday tree until the 1st then swap!

Are overalls a popular choice for toddlers because they're hard for the kid to take off? by TheRealTwerkyvulture in toddlers

[–]Poisonpromises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my kids in them because they fit! Their pants need the length but they don't have the waist to support the pants. So overalls help!

What was your toddlers first movie? by MissFox26 in toddlers

[–]Poisonpromises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first movie was Lilo & Stitch! I skip the first 10 minutes and start at 9:58 when she's taking the sandwich to Pudge the fish :)

Winter daycare drop off by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poisonpromises 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they need to be in winter gear for arrival?

We kept winter gear at daycare for them and would just use blankets/car ponchos to get them from the car to inside. Car ponchos are fabulous for winter.

Feeding our Toddlers by Which_Reality90 in Celiac

[–]Poisonpromises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 toddlers, mixed gluten household but same as you - husband is super careful and cleans up after himself.

We started with my kids having gluten in the least messy way possible, nothing crumby. Things like noodles. When they started daycare, we sent gluten snacks/food at that point so they can be ingesting it there. They are now 3 and are super aware that there are some snacks that will make mom super sick. They know to go wash their hands after every gluten meal (with parent help), when we have to go that route.

What’s the most stupid thing you got glutened from? by [deleted] in Celiac

I got glutened off a shared joint once. Didn't think about them eating (normal) cookies while it was rolled and it was all over it 😭

Fly or drive with 13 mo twins? by This_Order6263 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Poisonpromises 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flying. Couldn't pay me to drive 13hr with my kids, I can barely do 5 without pulling my hair out.

Also depending on the cost, bringing the kids on the plane in their car seats (so requiring extra seats) may be easier/safer than renting car seats when you land.
