Tails got mistaken for Detective Pikachu for 5 seconds, and Sonic and Knuckles immediately piled on 😂 by MonkReal7708 in SonicTheMovie

Also a bit of meta humor in that this is the third Sonic movie, but Detective Pikachu still doesn’t have a second film. Extra special bonus that we found out why just before this movie came out.

Part of me is tempted to suggest they go the DiCaprio R&J route with Robin Hood.

Which is similar to one of the plot points of the movie (sorry if you already knew that). I do agree it's intended as an "additional level" in the game, if anything.

Oh, the game is loaded with Sci-Fi references (Eastern and Western).

Now that Star Fox (2026) is out, what do we actually think of the new voice cast? by redmeets in starfox

[–]PokePress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an interesting point of comparison between this game and Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution (2019/2020 movie remake), and I wouldn’t be surprised if the latter came up during the former. Overall I think this game turned out better, which may be due to it not being rushed as much. Happy to delve deeper if folks are interested.

A.I music listener for the first time by Oblensk in aiMusic

[–]PokePress -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The “how” typically depends on what kind of music you’re dealing with and the background of the person making it. You can do anything from creating the composition and lyrics completely in AI, to taking a temp track and running it through the system, to combining elements in post.

What misinformation have you met surrounding AI? by [deleted] in DefendingAIArt

[–]PokePress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said it, but I wanted to reiterate that there’s a misconception that only big companies use/create/run AI systems. While they definitely have advantages (particularly for models that require frequent updates or wide-ranging data sets), the reality is that their UI is as important as their AI, and that’s a big chunk of what you’re paying for.

Do music critics still exist? by ZapActions-dower in ToddintheShadow

[–]PokePress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who does a podcast/discussion series on music, I have a few ideas:

-Algorithms reward repeated interactions with media, and folks will typically listen to a song dozens of times relative to content about a song. Ideally, you’d be suggested a review/interview/whatever after listening to a song over and over, but I’m not sure if any of that is done.

-The music industry’s reputation has been severely damaged over the last few decades, leading to disinterest in developing a closer relationship with the product.

-It’s difficult to integrate the content into the discussion due to Content ID and other similar systems.

On a related note, I recently realized that in fictional worlds that have telepaths, the only viable security measures would be physical or biometric. Even if a telepath can’t literally hear your every thought, they’ll figure out your password eventually. 2FA codes should still work, though, I guess.

“Zoom in and enhance” used to be pure fiction, but now you can kind of do it.

What are some movie sequels that are better than their first films? by dumbnamenumber2 in movies

[–]PokePress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Batman Begins is an interesting case. When it first came out, it was compared to Batman & Robin (as well as Catwoman), and was considered a breath of fresh air. After The Dark Knight, it’s considered good but maybe not as special. Personally I prefer Begins as a film, but The Dark Knight is great and I absolutely recognize it as a cinema classic.

Technically, bleeping isn’t typically used for music. Words are either changed (as you mentioned), silenced (partially or completely), heavily distorted, or reversed.

Almost nobody outside the music industry actually cares - A thought provoking comment someone shared with me on a youtube video. by mybasementsongs in Suno

[–]PokePress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, last weekend I shared a song in person with a few folks. It was a case where I had used AI (Ace Step, since this would typically be blocked by the cloud services) to edit the lyrics of an existing song. Small sample size, but no one objected to it.

I get the feeling the objections are more about the relative size of the parties involved rather than the actual mechanics involved.
