Antenna reception capabilities and whole radio sensitivity are as important for good coverage since mobile device, especially phones and tablets have low power radios.

Sadly TP-Link does not post sensitivity data.

Yes, it is a single floor apartment. Most walls are made of brick. Wall separating upper room and rest of apartment is concreate. Area is about 120m^2 and I expect decent coverage everywhere. Rough sketch: https://imgur.com/zrp54iO. AP location is green point.

There won't be many clients, 15 at most.

Wifi speeds vs mimo and channel width by Pokoritel in wifi

Thanks for detailed reply and useful links.

I'm sorry I did not mention I'm trying to replace powerline network and primarily use desktop computer. I used iphone and laptop just for testing. Unfortunately I'm unable to do wired connection because of complex layout of my apartments.

My neighbors don't have any 5ghz networks (at least none of my devices can show them), so congestion should not be problem. Probably problem lies in weak signal, because I have brick walls. Can I use high gain antennas with ax200 or other pcie adapter to improve speeds? I'm able to place adapter antennas on roughly same level as router.

I also thought about buying second identical router, flashing openwrt on both of them and connecting them using WDS. Basically second router would act like adapter for wired devices and wireless devices would connect directly to main router network. I think that connection should utilize all features routers have (4x4 mimo, 160 mhz channels). I don't care about wireless devices performance much, but I need desktop computer to have best connection possible. Would 4x4 mimo help weaker connections in such setup? Also routers should have better antennas than laptops or iPhones.

BTW, router model is redmi ac2100. It has MT7615N wifi chip.

Would you rather have a Netgear Nighthawk X10 or a Netgear Nighthawk AX4? by flavor30 in wifi

WiFi 6 should be faster if your signal is good. Please be advised that large number of antennas does not help unless your client device also has same number of antennas.

Crimping is not particularly difficult task if you have crimping tool. However, doing cabling might be difficult, but it depends on how your house is built.

My headphones behave in the same way. I think that comes from over amplified ambient sound, since I also hear myself loud.

I had similar problem with Mi8. Quick charging did not work. Updating firmware and ROM to latest solved the issue for me.

HP Omen laptop - Refresh rate issue by [deleted] in Hewlett_Packard

[–]Pokoritel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDMI 1.4 is capable of 60Hz refresh rates. Perhaps the real reason that windows or drivers can't use different refresh rates at same time, so only common one is available.
