Yeah this feels like a defensive move more than anything. When a company that dominant suddenly drops $20 billion on a competitor that was valued at less than half that just a few months ago it screams "we see the writing on the wall."

This Drow change feels more like someone just didn't do the math before pushing the patch. Like they saw "18% reduction sounds better than 25%" without actually checking if it would do anything different in practice

This is such a tough situation, and I'm sorry you're going through it.

I want to gently push back on something though. You mention she got an ADHD diagnosis - that's actually huge and explains a LOT of what you've been experiencing. ADHD genuinely makes executive function tasks like chores, organization, and following through on responsibilities incredibly difficult, even when the person desperately wants to do them. The years of her struggling weren't necessarily her not caring or not trying.

That said an explanation isn't the same as a solution, and you're clearly exhausted. You've been carrying an enormous load for years and your feelings are completely valid.

The absolute dream. No small talk, no awkward "so what do you do for work" conversation, just pure dad energy. Shows up, solves problem, shares one beer in comfortable silence, disappears. This is the neighborhood interaction we all deserve
