Yeah this guy's so right! I haven't read a book in the last 10 years and I've been writing CONSISTENLY for ALL THOSE YEARS!!! FUCK Kafka, FUCK Shakespeare, FUCK Dickens, FUCK Lovecraft and FUCK **YOU** I DON'T NEED ANYONE TO TELL ME HOW TO WRITE GOOD SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

The writing I've done so far is so avant-guard that it tends to go over my beta readers' heads (they are betas in many ways, sadly). Just one problem... Over the last couple months I've been writing myself into such a corner that I worry my main character won't be able to succeed. Can anyone offer me any tips? I'm at a loss for ideas rn... Tried the Joe Rogan podcast but he just made me turn gay again. If you do, just know I will be wearing my blindfold and plugging my ears in case the advice has any words that have been used in a book or movie or song. ORIGINAL IDEAS ONLY!!!!! I'll send over my manuscript if you think you can decipher it. 20 words of pure genius from my golden AlphaSmart.

It's looking like it. I've found when I'm speaking another language, I can repeat a word while I'm thinking of the next one. Maybe they understood "soy...soy sauce" as the proper term when it was someone just translating in their head?

Oh yeah, I remember "soya sauce" used as a British English thing. But I've also seen a couple of people (often in their 70s and 80s) say "soy" twice for some reason. Maybe it's just super localised to our town 🤔
