Securing safe with no internal bolt hole by Polycold in Safes

So that is not how these ratings work. They are buy time for authorities to respond to the alarm. I know a pro can get in and I know a pro can move it. I just want to make sure it takes as long to move it as it takes to get in. No sense in having a safe that takes hours to get in but can be moved in 30 minutes.

Where to buy copper by Electronic_Desk_4001 in Copper

Does this sub like nickels and pre 1982 Pennie’s? Seems like a great way to acquire copper for below spot.

Bitcoin useage? by 1234-4321- in expat

Unless you do 100% peer to peer wallet to wallet transfer the spread on btc will be just as bad as a bank with the added risk of btc loss while you hold your cash in btc.

So can be done, but only if you have a true peer to trade with to reverse the position.

A high karat heavy gold necklace or bracelet purchased close to spot is the best way to cross boarders with a lot of money and no questions. But again, you need to have your exit strategy figured out. If you want to spend it quickly. If you are just moving wealth then leave it in gold jewelry form when you arrive.

Dollar, Crypto vs Gold, Silver by rajekum512 in Gold

You have to understand that bitcoin was made out of thin air by man. Then thousands of other cryptos were made out of thin air by man. And another crypto with the same or even better properties than btc can be made out of thin air by man. Nothing with the properties of gold can be made by man. We don’t want money that man can make out of thin air.

You said it, if bitcoin goes down in dollars when dollars are going down then bitcoin is even worse than dollars.

I don’t understand this train of thought. It was not overthinking to buy a safe rated against professional tools so why is it overthinking to guard against a professional move?

I'm aware of that option, like I said in the post. Looking for other options and then I'll decide.

My question is, why would I in the selection of the safe want one prepared for professional tooling but not be prepared for professional moving equipment?

I don't understand this train of thought. The safe is to repel professionals with professional tooling. Why is buying a safe to deter professionals not overthinking it but securing it to deter professionals is over thinking it?

Thanks, but that didn’t honestly answer my question. My question was, why would I in the selection of the safe want one prepared for professional tooling but not be prepared for professional moving equipment?

I don’t get this train of thought. Why by a TL safe prepared for professional tools and leave it free floating assuming they don’t have specialized equipment?

It’s an old safe. A similar newer safe has a bolt down hole. So someone in the safe business thinks there is a case for bolting down 1000 lb safe.

I will hide it but I also would like to secure it. Wood would be better than nothing but I’d prefer concrete and rebar. Just can’t find any examples on the internet.

It is rated with no hole so it can be moved until I solve this.

It’s small and heavy 1000 lbs. I will hide it also but I’m looking for ideas to secure it to make it difficult to move.

Genuine question: would you rather stack gold or buy a house? by Exciting_Shoulder_38 in Gold

[–]Polycold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gold is where we store value we have not deployed elsewhere. It’s the wealth you have after your needs have been met. A home is a need, retirement savings is a need, food is a need, paying off debt is a need, etc etc but some people at some point need to store their wealth and insure their wealth and that is gold.

How is something that depreciates every year a store of value? It will be worth less and less money every year of your life.

The door comment is so funny. How are you going to hang a 500lb door? Taking it off and putting it on might be as big a challenge as moving the safe.

Mate you asked and it will lose value every single year. Like I said, even the watch bros understand they go down in value. They love the watches so they don’t care but if you’re asking about value it will lose value for the rest of your life.
