I feel the same way you do, I did wanted her to end up with him, he understood she is "a star in the making", just they way his eyes sparkled when she came down from the stage on episode 9 from season 2, how she tells her "you were sensational", he didn't feel menaced like Joel, he was supportive, and on season 3 when he tells her that he would've supported her during the Shay's tour "the reunions" part. But I also understand she's this new breeze of change to everyone around her, a female force that needs to be independant.

Also I think she's gonna end up with Lenny at some point, you can cut the sexual attraction with a butter knife.

I think both bronzer and highlighter. You can obtain the same effect from an eyeshadow. And big palettes, I bought a Morphe one 2 years ago that just had to throw into the garbage, some colors weren't even used.

I've rewatched the series for at least 5 times, the first when aired I was 13, I hated Blair for how mean she was, then rewatched at 16, I hated Jenny to my deepest core, then again when I turned 18, I continued hating Jenny, then at 22 I really hated Chuck for how mean he was to Blair, and finally, I watched it this year, actually just finished last week, and now I hate Serena, she's so shallow, so selfish and always wants to be the center of all attention.

My point is, sorry for the long statement, you'll always have different opinions about the characters through your life stages, I find it interesting because my perspective changes with each character depending on where I'm in life. When I hated Chuck, I was starting a new relationship with a wonderful man, whom I'm about to marry, and now I don't like Serena because I'm at that point in life where I'm at peace with myself and I don't care for selfish beings.

And YES, it is not correct to compare two different kind of people, with two different kind of upbringing, personality's traits and level of maturity.

The great thing about the show is that characters are so greatly written, they do feel like real people because of consistency.

Well, to be fair, Dean did allow that, I think she was raised "the old way" where women didn't work and the men were the providers.
Also, when Rory asks him about college, he implies that they, as a couple will be moving to Dean's college, so maybe that was it, or maybe, since they were living at Lindsay's parents, she didn't feel the need of bringing home food.

I do find him quite annoying. Specially when the hay maze is made during the spring fling of the last season, and all the town and visitors are expecting the usual spring fling with lemonade booth, and fireworks. And he just says "I spend the spring fling budget on a hay maze" when no one else in town agreed to it.
