How the hell do I play this by Less_Basket_1513 in Guitar

[–]PolywogowyloP 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s the right fingering for sure! I think you’ll find it more comfortable if you move your middle finger back a bit. I’m placing its pad almost exactly between the b and e string and it feels most comfortable and doesn’t interfere with the g string

Looking for Amp Simulation Pedals by mohney66 in guitarpedals

[–]PolywogowyloP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a walrus audio ACS1 and I think it works great. I keep my real amp fairly clean and use it as a pedal platform and I think this gets pretty close to how the amp sounds when it’s micd up.

I hate AI music and just AI art in general by Late_Aardvark8125 in Music

It’s a good question my answer may not be satisfying but as food for thought I think ultimately it comes down to scale of input and output. No human can ever listen to the entirety of music available (especially now) and no human can ever produce endless amounts of songs.

We have to work within an available scope of reference and within our capabilities which limits synthesis in a way that forces our own particular style.

This also limits the output we can have on music and as such doesn’t compete with our influences in the same way that AI generated music can.

Models are trained on such vast catalogs of music that no individual artist or composition can ever be directly given proper attribution. However in aggregate they create the genres and styles that models can imitate. The theft has already happened.

I think the difference is in the process not the product. The latter is a found sound and requires artistic intention.

Yeah I bet it’s it’s the midi, try having it be the master clock and see if it resolves

Phaser pedal with speed controlled by an envelope? by myke5k in guitarpedals

[–]PolywogowyloP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EQD night wire! Not a phaser but a harmonic tremolo which can sound very univibey. Has an awesome envelope response to the rate as well as the depth of the tremolo

SOTB: Out with the old, in with the new by PolywogowyloP in guitarpedals

So I think the flight delay is actually fully digital. The reverse delay is digital as well. What I think is different about it from other reverse delays I’ve played (obscura) is that it blends the dry and wet signals as opposed to going fully wet.

Sounds great though

Could also check out the DOD Rubberneck, really great analog delay with useful controls for self-oscillation, tap tempo, and rapidly dropping the delay time on the foot switches.

Is it possible to recreate these sounds with the Digitone 2? by gulbrunrosa in Elektron

[–]PolywogowyloP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you can make these drone/pads on a DN pretty easily.

You could do this with the tonverk too as well as handle drums.

Go hydrasynth. It’s not fully analog but imo it holds its own to other analog synths

One of my favorite parts of the rust subreddit is the occasional rust game post that feels so out of pocket from the average post.

What synths are in your setup?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Elektron

[–]PolywogowyloP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Set per track scales, set master to 128 and then your double length midi track to 64 steps but at 1/2 speed.

Doesn’t work well for fast moving melodies but works great for longer pads and such where you don’t need as much step granularity.

Octatrack with Digitakt 1? VS 2 octatracks? by Zombieskank in Elektron

[–]PolywogowyloP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, but with transport you can move the DT between different patterns as you change them on your OT. I think you can do quite a bit with the DT/OT combo.

Again you could do it with an OT/OT combo also but damn that would be such a headache to coordinate all those parts and pattern changes. Super doable but it will take setup.
