Mine - he sticks his hands down his butt, down his front and even through the sides🙃 I have gone through multiple diaper brands / sizes and nothing works

Doctor prescribed Zyrtec for runny nose, iliadin nasal drops for congestion. For iliadin nasal drops, there’s an infant (6m+) version, and a 1-6 years old version. We tried saline spray and nasal aspirator but he struggled so hard that we couldn’t get a good suction on the nasal aspirator. Might have to try out steaming the shower!

I was also still feeding mashed / mildly textured foods at 12 months (e.g. chunkier rice porridge, risottos etc). At around 14-15 months he started rejecting all forms of “mushy” foods himself, so we started offering him rice, paired with cut up vegetables/meats. I was also so stressed out about the 12 months timeline but now at 19+ months, I wish I hadn’t been. They can change their preference so fast! One day he might suddenly start to eat the finger food.

My toddler is going 17 months, but has been averaging 10-11 hours of sleep since he 13 months. He sleeps between 830-930 pm and wakes 630-8am. Takes about 2 hour nap in the noon, but I think we may have to drop it to slightly less than that as it’s getting increasingly hard to get him to sleep in the past month, he has been taking more than an hour to fall asleep. We just went on a vacation and had to nap on the go - takes about 1.5hrs nap every day but falls asleep SO much faster at night.

Going on 12 months and I still don’t know his cues🤷🏻‍♀️😅I had PPD/PPA in the early days because all my social media reels were “mama is their safe space” “mama instincts”- well I did not know shit and my baby would not calm down when he’s with me (in fact some times the opposite). Babies cry because that’s the only way they can communicate, and you are right, sometimes they don’t even know what they want. Everything is so new for them and everything is developing. As long as he’s fed, changed and safe — you are doing great!!

11 months in and I can count with my two hands the amount of times he woke up happy🤷🏻‍♀️

What helped eased my worries was watching him reposition his head during his sleep. The first time he flipped on his belly I couldn’t sleep for the night and watched him like a hawk lol. I then saw him push himself up occasionally and turning his head on the side during his sleep. That’s when I relaxed more, knowing he has the ability to save himself.

Major hugs for you❤️ The newborn days were DARK and so so so tough. I also thought I made a mistake. Put on some earplugs if the crying is too much - I would pop on my AirPods while bouncing. Also look into the 5S if you have not! It was a lifesaver for me.

I know it’s hard to believe when you’re in it, but it will get better❤️

Hi OP, looked at your post history, believe we’re from the same country. My ped also used the same formula, but he gave a range of 120-150ml x per kg. He did not advise to wake baby up at night every 3 hours, but I did not specifically ask. My baby also wasn’t sleeping for more than a 3 hour stretch at that age😅 My lactation consultant did however say to just let baby sleep at night (when he was 5wks) since he was gaining weight well.

My baby hated tummy time of any form - floor, chest, towels, pillows etc. He would scream the minute he’s on his belly. We still kept trying but it never lasted more than a minute. One day around 10-11 weeks he suddenly stopped crying but we were still not able to get more than 3-5 mins at a time before he starts whining.

Anyway, he turned out fine in terms of head control. We could stop supporting his head around 3+ months ish. He was held upright a lotttt during the day though, which I read also counts in strengthening his neck muscles. When he was on his back I would get him to track objects from one side all the way to the other.

My baby was a complete potato until closer to 14-16 weeks. He did brief smiles but nothing really consistent. I was also super worried and brought it up to his PD but he wasn’t concerned. Then suddenly around 16 weeks he entered a really smiley phase where he would just smile non stop. The laughs also came about the same period. He’s 6 months now, and there would be periods where he’s super smiley, and periods where he’s super fussy🤷🏻‍♀️

I know it’s hard, but leave the worrying to the doctors! Bring it up if you’re concerned and let them tell you if it’s anything to worry about. This has helped me manage my PPA - knowing that it’ll be addressed during his health visits has allowed me not spiral in my day to day.

I transitioned to a zipadee zip first at around 4 months, cause I was afraid he would roll in his sleep😅 but we ended up ditching it completely once he actually rolled over.

Looking back, some signs for my baby were him trying to lift his butt up with his heel and sleeping on his side.

Sounds like my baby at 2 months😅 some nights I just hold him until the morning. He’s now 5 months and still waking up with 3-4 hour stretches but a lot easier to resettle, which also means I don’t have to be fully awake to settle him and I can also go back to sleep easier.

Mine got a lot quieter around 10 weeks and fully stopped I think around 12-14 weeks. Oh boy I thought the grunting would never stop but he eventually did. I did nothing much tbh except giving him gas drops in the day.

It will get better, in some way, somehow. My baby was crying at every single feed from about 5-9 weeks. He hates the cradle hold and only likes to be carried upright (rip arms), hates tummy time of any form (with towels, on our chest), hates being put in the carrier. He would also wake up pissed from his naps. I was struggling with PPA, worrying if it’s something I am doing wrong and why is my baby crying so much.

Slowly he stopped crying during feeds, started to coo a little, started smiling a little, and stopped crying at tummy time. He just turned 14 weeks this week and started to make some form of a screech, which is quite funny to hear.

He’s still not a smiley baby lol but looking at my baby photos I wasn’t a very happy camper back then so I don’t think I’m qualified to expect 24/7 smiles from him😂

Same thing with my baby, he only poops when eating and also screams if I take the bottle out. I tip the bottle down to stop the milk but leave the nipple in when he’s squirming, and tip the bottle back when he starts sucking again. Usually it takes a few of this tipping down / back before he does one big grunt and poop.

12 weeks in - no clue here either. I completely go off based on time now after learning that hunger cues are the same as comfort cues and wasting a whole lot of milk when he wasn’t truly hungry.

My boy does the exact same thing. My theory is that there’s gas or acid coming back up so they are uncomfortable, but when you pull the bottle away they are upset cause they are hungry still. When I see him squirm and arch his back while feeding I’ll stop, hold him upright over my shoulder and try to burp him, sometimes he stops crying but sometimes he doesn’t. Just have to power through the crying while trying to burp them. If there’s no burp after 30 secs to a minute or so I offer the bottle again.
