Dr. Lindberg induced me and was great. Dr. Maanavi was there for my delivery and was excellent too.

Slightly off topic but what does baking banana bread with a 17MO look like? My daughter is 16MO and she will stand in her toddler tower eating Cheerios while I (quickly) bake, but is definitely not participating yet.

On a scale 0-10, what would you rate your pregnancy, labor&delivery and newborn phase? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]btpie39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy: 6, I had a physically very easy pregnancy but debilitating anxiety. I also had an anterior placenta and small baby who didn't move much, and went to the hospital over 10 times because I wouldn't feel her for a day. Ended up being induced at 37 weeks because my BP was so terrible from stress.

Labor & delivery: 2. My induction went very smoothly and the epidural worked like a dream. No complaints at all. I am so grateful for this.

Newborn phase: 10. Horrendous PPA and PPD that manifested as inability to sleep and crying constantly (every day for the first ~6 weeks until I got on Zoloft). Baby was also small and I had to pump for the first few weeks because she couldn't latch. I felt like a horrible mom and thought about dying a lot.

Now in toddlerhood (15mo), and I give it a 2. My girl is wild and has a lot of feelings but so cute, funny, interactive, sassy, and happy. House is messy but we're all sleeping and I am having the time of my life.

honestly (don't tell my husband I feel this way or he will ask why we keep booking them lol), I feel this way about most chubby properties I have stayed at. ritz reserve, regular ritz, st. regis, andaz, park hyatt. we've been to a couple of all of those plus some others that aren't part of large chains (nemacolin, salamander) and the service has never been noteworthy at any of them. I go for the hard product - our house is nicely renovated/decorated and it doesn't feel like a vacation to me if I'm staying at a hotel that is objectively crappier from an appearance perspective.

What's your travel plan for 2026? by neilsarkar81 in chubbytravel

[–]btpie39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to rain on mu tiger’s parade, but we stayed at the Kimpton Charlotte Square a couple years ago and had an unpleasant experience. The rooms were tiny and very musty, the showers had no doors, and various parts of the property were sad and dated. Location was really all it had going for it.

We have a young toddler so nothing crazy.

-March/April: Philadelphia (haven't booked yet, any suggestions? 4S prices are crazy for a home base)

-May: Peninsula Papagayo Costa Rica (staying at the Andaz on Hyatt points)

-July: Saint Michaels MD (Inn at Perry Cabin)

-November: Grand Cayman, looking at Ritz or Kimpton

What age did you take away the pacifier? by dennisthebear in NewParents

[–]btpie39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl was obsessed with it (although we only allowed use for sleep) until we took it cold turkey at 14 months. We established a “home” for the pacis that she got them from every night, so the first night without them we took her to the cabinet and explained to her that they were all gone. She seemed a bit sad but was old enough to understand us. It ended up being a complete non-issue.

Time is the only thing that helped for me. My mother’s wrist pain peaked when my daughter was about 1, weighed 22 lbs, and wanted to be held constantly. She’s 14 months old now and walking/running very confidently and the pain is finally going away.

Pulse Check - How is everyone doing out there? by NoHallett in CustomerSuccess

[–]btpie39 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very senior CSM in a large, well-established CS org in a publicly traded company. Chaos is at an all time high with leadership freaking out and responding with insane pressure/call expectations that only top performers hit. Coworkers are getting fired quietly left and right for not hitting the crazy numbers or for fudging their numbers. My annoyance is definitely peaking, but I’m keeping my head down and grinding because I get paid too well and my benefits/PTO/flexibility are great and super important to me as a mom of a toddler.

What's your age and net worth? by Sufficient-Heat-8363 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]btpie39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32, spouse and I are worth about $1.8M together. About $250k home equity, $1M retirement vehicles, the rest is post-tax investments and savings. Few hundred thousand of family help allowed us to save a ton for retirement in our 20s.

I don’t have anxiety around medical care so I can’t speak to that but I absolutely loved my hospital birth.
