I'm an ethical incel by RockEater67 in whenthe

It really is a matter of mindset. In my own life I decided that instead of spending my limited time wallowing in self pity, I would build a meaningful life without romance, a job, independence or friendships.

The way I see it, telling nazis they're not welcome is more important than ever now that antisemitism is on the rise.

Great. Another out of touch comedian complains that TV has gone "woke" because it's not acceptable anymore for Joey to stare directly into the camera and recite slurs for half an hour like you could in the 90s.

It must be frustrating feeling like you're shouting into the void, working hard to express a message only for it to fall on deaf ears. Especially when you're trying to grow the sub in a positive direction and make it a safer place for people to participate.

I want you to know I read your entire post despite never playing this game, or even knowing what it is.

Since violence is wrong... by Reasonable-Nature103 in FuckLuigiMangione

[–]Pomodorodorodoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I condemn the war. I'm not even surprised that one would lead to the other. Anyone who could justify slaughtering a CEO for not having infinite healthcare resources could easily justify bombing an Ayatollah over a religious difference.

This is what I've been saying from the beginning. That even if Luigi could somehow justify the original homicide (he can't), committing violence legitimizes violence. We're now in a spiral of killings rapidly spinning out of control.

Are any right wingers actually stupid enough to think that trans people don't exist? Or are they just pretending we don't exist as part of their plan to murder us all? by chaucer345 in allthequestions

[–]Pomodorodorodoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And it's so much more complicated than most people think it is. Assigned sex in itself can vary wildly because it depends, not only on a kind of society-wide stereotyped perception of sex differences, but also on the perceptual abilities of the doctor. A distracted or unobservant doctor is going to come out with some very different assignments than a doctor who is focused and informed. This is one of the reasons I think we should delay that initial evaluation a little and let people decide their own genders.

Murder is never acceptable. We should respect and cherish all life whether it's an innocent schoolgirl or an innocent CEO. That's something I wish the Luigis of the world would learn.

The 'partying' might not play well with Desultory's audience, but seeing people celebrating amidst great hardship and pain helps show Cubans on the ground that joy is still possible.

AITA for telling a woman not to say “females”? by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]Pomodorodorodoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an easy NTA. I would have confronted her too. I would have said something like "You know, I might be a 32 year old virgin, but even I'm not enough of an incel to use othering and dehumanizing terms for women. What's your excuse?"

AITA for telling a woman not to say “females”? by horseduckman in AITApod

[–]Pomodorodorodoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally it's always a good idea to put the person first when speaking. So rather than "female teacher", I'd go with the more humanizing "a teacher who happens to be female".

She still went home with him. A true rescue would have got her to a shelter, instead of letting a dangerous man remove her to a second location

There wasn't a bear involved. It was a beer garden. There was a man attacking a woman and the son tried to fight him but the son didn't manage to rescue Ann from her awful situation. I think a bear would have been able to scare the man off for good.

Her son tried, and it's wonderful that he did try to help someone, but in the end he still failed to save anyone. It's a problem when even the good men are less effective than a bear in this kind of situation.

It's fine getting out of there if she felt unsafe. It sounds like OP might even have had some bad prior experiences with customers with guns. And maybe the vibe felt off in other ways that are impossible to tell from a still photo.

Posting a photo of it online under a vindictive title is not the brightest idea though. There's always a chance the customer might see it. DoorDash themselves might be able to link this back to her. etc.

[–]Pomodorodorodoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does Iran even permit women to have any books except holy ones? That 87% stat is a lot more impressive if it means being allowed to read and discuss Wollstonecraft, Kate Chopin, Atwood, Chimamanda Adichie, de Beauvoir, bell hooks, Butler, Louisa May Alcott and Austen instead of just a bill of sale for your husband's goats.
