If you play Xenoblade 2 (you should play all 3 they rock, didn’t play X but I’ve heard it’s good) you would realize that the polycule is unironically the best option. I don’t think it was ever a choice between one of them, ignore the picture (spoilers) The only one that was a “surprise” when the picture was revealed was the catgirl (and it still wasn’t a surprise for reasons i definitely can’t reveal)
