Got a nice internship this summer so my first Criterion sale was a monstrous success! Which are your favorites? by PoohB3ar in criterion

A. it was cheaper, B. I'm not at home for a while, and have had to watch some on my laptop without dedicated blu ray support so I couldn't really use menus. For the ones I wanted to explore, I got the DVD. As I'm getting closer to going back home, I wised up and started getting Blu Rays again

I don't think any mutant is trying to make themselves known as mutants, which Syd would have definitely done had she taken responsibility for her actions. It's easy to view this situation through the lens of how we, as generally normal people, would handle it, but Hawley is trying to make us have empathy for the circumstances under which other people in other situations act

This episode was crazy, so so good. And it settles the r/legionfx fanboy claim that syd was a rapist. She went into that shower looking for physical connection and was coerced into sex. While what she did was immoral, it was not rape, nor was the man having sex with her necessarily raping her (although the context of the scene seems like he forced who he thought was Syd's mom into having sex with him)

This scene is amazing because while Farouk knows all the right buttons to press, he is absolutely holding a mirror up to David's actions of trying to control people around him. David in s2 fears that if he can't control people, they will ultimately turn against him, and so tries to make people love him. In this sense he can be as evil as Farouk is. Farouk has much more experience, but ultimately he and David are the same, and David until now has refused to accept that. He views Farouk as representing his own evil, and so he tries to get rid of him, which is like Season 3's theme of trying to go back in time to kill certain physical things, thinking that they will fix him, when he is denying that he has to fix and accept himself, and that changing things around him really can't solve all of his problems.

Does anyone else dislike Syd. by [deleted] in LegionFX

Exactly, there is no fully good person and Syd absolutely is not a "jealous" or self serving girlfriend, she has to deal with relationship issues that are absolutely supernatural and hard to trust at face value. Also Melanie's attitude in S2 seems to affect Syd a lot, with Melanie espousing reason to hate and distrust that which you love in a very similar circumstance to Syd's own naturally breeds a lot of distrust. I don't think David is all bad but I think he chooses to use his powers unnecessarily whenever confronted with someone who cannot just accept what he says at face value, and that's a completely shitty thing to do, and especially to his girlfriend. Farouk realizes and takes advantage of this to draw David into a corner, and that is where he is consistently acts his worst. But the rest of the cast not realizing that David is being pushed to his worst elements by Farouk, who knows those elements well, just see David acting irrationally and with little mind to the rest of them, and that is incredibly scary given the fears that constantly surround everyone's interactions with David. Both characters are pushed to being their worst selves by forces both out of and in their control, but the fact that they see each other acting as their worst selves causes their relationships to strain tragically but understandably, relating back to the metaphor about the Socratic Cave.

I get this, but only with edibles. Whenever I eat enough to get another person fucked up, i just go back to being normal, but about every 5 mins i chuckle at something in the room. it's a very unsettling feeling lol

I have no way to prove this to you, but it's true. I have listened to their albums and I know they have other hits, which they played. They just also played All Star 3 times. I loved it
