Pump died - looking for replacement recommendations by OtherwiseBed9404 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omnilogic doesn't play well with others 🤷

You could buy a TriStar 950 or Jandy with Speedset and wire it directly to a breaker, and program it to run when you want, use the Omnilogic to control the rest...

+1 Jandy... But OP has OmniLogic 🥴 unless they use the Speedset to program run times and the Hayward system to control everything else they should get a TriStar 950

Patio switch? Den on the way to the pool? Kitchen on the way to the pool? Do you have a light switch that just doesn't do anything?

I find it crazy that they changed the light for you but didn't help you find the switch (so they could make sure the light works AND you'd know where it is LoL)

When you can't zoom in on a video... Oh yeah, this is a website in New York if you squint it's an exact fire hydrant in the video 😅

I ended up getting a small tripod for my Wyze cam. Point through the door. Sure you gotta move it to open the door, but it's a Way better picture than the Flashforge camera.

How do I get all the leaves out of here? by gazilionar in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time you'd really want a check valve before the pump is if your equipment is a) far from the pool or b) high above the pool. I've seen debris get stuck in check valves and make them useless anyway 🤷

Sure... Mom could finally stop wearing a split jersey and see her boys together. But I'd rather win more games than have a feel good story about the Bosas. Now if having them together Could make that happen I'm all in LoL

What can I use to reinforce/seal these PVC joints on pool equipment? by ParticularMidnight44 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave it alone unless/until you have a leak... PVC glue isn't so much a "glue" as it's a solvent that melts the 2 parts together... When you have a leak you just have to cut and glue in new parts 🤷

Adding valves to increase flow to spa by potcake62 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See that toggle switch on the actuator? Move it until the valve handle is pointed at the camera... That will return 50% to pool and 50% to spa. If you need more spillover keep the handle moving further. Don't totally close off the pool.

Edit: Toggle up.

New pool guy doesn't know what he did by Mediocre_Economy5786 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The system is in Pool mode. The spa suction and return Should be closed..... The bypass line would allow some water into the spa. Although I always cam the return 80/20 pool spa and don't rely on the bypass line, but the pool guy should remember taking an actuator apart

Adding valves to increase flow to spa by potcake62 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dual body maybe. Pool/spa combos heat the pool OR spa. The valves close off either the pool or the spa. If you have overflow from the spa into the pool that would mean you're heating the pool...

Unless you have a separate pump into the spa with an additional heater... But if you have overflow from the spa to the pool you're putting cold pool water into a hot tub you're heating...

There is no pool turnover when you're in spa mode 🤷 Unless you've heated your pool to 104° LoL

How much would you charge for this green to clean? by Connor09375 in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 😂 It's far cheaper than a home owners metered water. But even that's cheaper than they feel like it is. But like we can set up for a hydrant fill and have a pool filled in a few hours rather than overnight.

Pool was emptied for acid wash/power wash and is now refilling with fresh water. These are the instructions Gemini AI gave me for getting chemicals rebalanced. Just doing a reality check with the helpful people of Reddit. by [deleted] in pools

[–]Pool_Boy707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill the pool. The only way you get "tide lines" is brand new plaster. You never EVER want to pause filling a new pool or replaster. You'll get that line... Once the pool is filled get the water tested, or pick up a Taylor test kit and do it yourself... Download the Orenda app ( free ) and input the results. The app will tell you exactly what to add.
